Schwarzbart
I wouldn't limiting man eating to worms given that even one of our possible familiar is a carnivorous plant. (Just think back at the Monster of Dark Suns AD&D 2nd)
Legate of Mineta
Well, true.
dyrhet
So if stuff that falls off the island returns to the island, does that sand just magically reappear in the desert somewhere, or does it rain down like water does. Because the latter sounds absolutely awful.
Metis
Stuff that falls of islands return to that areas wellspring, IIRC.
Legate of Mineta
What Metis wrote.
Rhialto
Does that include people and animals? And are they dead or seriously injured when they return?
Schwarzbart
Yes that includes living things like humans but all matter that comes out of the Wellspring is strongly deformed and fragmented, at last if I still remember right. So everything that was alive comes out dead and only usable at best as food but probably only as compost.
Legate of Mineta
This is correct- they return unrecognizable for all intents and purposes. It sometimes happens, and is used to frighten children- especially those that live near the edge!
freespace2dotcom
Any news from the team, Legate? On the Y2 class list or on the Temptation of Gates emotion? Because I think we've reached a point where I need to keep pestering you on this, It's too important!
Legate of Mineta
Free; You can, but there isn't news yet.

Schwarzbart
Could you tell me for what class my char have to visit the Forge? Some how I can't imagine any of his class, that are Arithmetic, Calligraphy, Dialectic, Geometry, Grammar and History, will have a homework where the char have to visit the forge. (Yes you see correct no real magic pillar) Its always funny what the Re assume the char to do even if it something that probably never would happen because the char have no reason to visit this location. Legate of Mineta
Haha! The only one out of those that *might* go would be Calligraphy, in conjunction with Enchanting. But really, none of those.
CremePudding
Some sort of Geometry exercise about measuring liquid metal? A Dialectic exercise where you play the role of safety inspector? Quite a reach, but if you can't invent insane homework related reasons in a magical school, you have nowhere else to do so.
freespace2dotcom
Legate, Where's the news?
Rhialto
Is there legal magic (aside from the barely tolerated synchronicity) that can cure people with severe mental defects? Because Hanno's sister is wealthy, it seems, and loves her brother. Or is his mental limitation related to her muteness? some sort of curse that afflicts both of them perhaps? Is that even possible - for a curse to strike multiple targets and manifest in different ways?
Metis
Common knowledge, assuming my less than stellar common memory does likewise, holds that while Glamour can either side-step or (somewhat) address the symptoms of mental defects actual treatment thereof belongs to the school of Mastery. Mind you, the Spy research topic does mention something...bizarre, on that subject. Something about "Societal magic", although what that is I don't have a clue. Legate of Mineta
Muahahaha! Also, for Freespace, nothing yet!
Rhialto
Legate: Is my questioning about Hanno and his sister what causes the laughter? And Another question: Since astronauts can go into outer space, have there been efforts by them to pierce the maelstrom and access the surface of Cyve?
Legate of Mineta
Rhi; I could never say. Astronauts are *mostly* theoretical, but there have many, many, many attempts to pierce the maelstrom. All have failed, or so it is assumed.
Schwarzbart
Is Stress Bonus also helping with the fixed X% chance effects? (like Run a Potentially Crippling Training Route or Academagia Public Practice Room) Ohh and have I already complained that sometimes the random seem to hate me and a 1 in 10 chance not even come up in 30+ try?
Rhialto
Do gates and mastery mages tend to associate themselves more with criminals in comparison with mages who specialize in other pillars? And is using magical artifacts and spells to boost competence while writing exams considered cheating?
Legate of Mineta
S; I don't think so- I think it only affects Rolls. Rhi; I guess by virtue of them *being* criminals, yes. Spells are accepted and encouraged, but artifacts are not.
Rhialto
Then that means that one of my characters cheated on a revision exam by having a Golden Apple equipped while writing the exam. What would the consequences be if such cheating were caught?
