It's three years away, but here's a British Pathe video from when HMS Howe and HMS Anson were finished and started service. Obviously very propaganda-like but always great to see real footage of ships, and how they manage to get them from mooring to the open sea.

This was the so-called "H Review" (Rivista H), done in honour of Hitler's visit in Italy. It pretty much involved most of the Italian naval forces, and no less than 85 submarines were present.

There has been some discussion about it, in retrospective. Some find it an impressive show of force, some accuse the Regia Marina of having fallen victim to the show business and having put on an "equestrian show".

An Italian admiral present wrote that "M. seemed satisfied, H. not that interested, and his chief sailor [likely Admiral Raeder] managed only to ask us wheter we do these kind of things with bad weather.".

Okay since von_Lipstig hinted at propaganda I wonder why there was none posted yet. The U.S. cartoon industry was very activa in that regard.

Spoiler

There lies a lot of private SNAFU around on youtube.

I'll leave you to them.

The last statement of the Polish Radio. Before entering the city of the German troops to Warsaw.

"- Hallo, hallo, do you hear us? This is our last message. Today, German troops entered Warsaw. Fraternal greetings are sent to soldiers fighting on Hel and all fighters, wherever they are. Poland has not perished yet. Let live Poland! "

This text was read by Jozef Malgorzewski, the French version read - Maria Stpiczynska, and Jeremi Przybora in English.

The signal has been strengthened by the Transatlantic Radiocommunications Headquarters in Warsaw and has been broadcast throughout Europe and the United States. The signal was heard by Polish destroyers in the United Kingdom.

HMS Centurion as a radio-controlled target, versus the alternative to using a "robo-ship".  I like that they left out BGM out of most of it so you get to hear how windy it is, as well as the splashes and gunfire.

...By the way, Centurion pre-dates World War I and survived long enough to be intentionally scuttled near Omaha Beach, to form a breakwater during the Invasion of Normandy.

Hmmmmm......:P

Polish war film from 1967 with English subtitles. Film reconstruction of the legendary defense of Westerplatte. The facility, commanded by Major Sucharski, despite the imbalance of power, instead of 12 hours defending 7 days. There are ammunition and food supplies arriving, and the commander in a sense of responsibility for his people, convinced that they feed their homeland more than dead heroes, decides to surrender to Westerplatte. On September 7, the capitulation is signed.
One of the most outstanding and most interesting Polish war films: a military victory replaced by a lack of hope, an unequal battle, a male adventure - a war of everyday life, suffering and suffering, and black and white schemes - respect for the enemy. And the key question is what is the duty to our country: to care for those who have survived and can be useful to us, or to fight at all costs, to the last drop of blood. In the dispute between rationalism and romance, the director and scriptwriter, although solidarity with the first position, do not refuse the other. Directed by Stanislaw Rozewicz
