Billy Von Bubba
Steam version with latest updates. First Days of Summer mod. When attempting to use the Investigate Magical Bond action, it lists the probability of increasing an attribute as 5%. Having tried many, many times, I wonder if the decimal point was moved accidentally so it is actually 0.5% chance.
Metis
Due to the way that such percent chance effects are programmed they cannot be fractions, and the mod tools rapport that it's correctly set at 5%. As someone who once thought it was an intelligent decision to rely on Run a Light Training Route to drag a student out of a 1 Fitness hole - it isn't, for the record - it's entirely possible to get an unlucky streak that you somehow just never see in any other game you play. Alternatively you have a CoF that applies to the action, like being a Bad Luck Magnet.
Billy Von Bubba
Thank you. I'm going to try a new game and see what happens.
Metis
If the problem persists in the new game I'd suggest trying to cheese Run a Potentially Crippling Training Course (should be Running 1) and see if it produces the same result. I mean random rolls are random, but if both fail far more consistently than they should across two save files I think there's a reason to raise an eyebrow. Billy Von Bubba
In my new game, I found 8 increases in attributes over the course of 200 iterations. 4% seems close enough to the listed 5% that it doesn't seem to be a problem generally.
