Jazzy92
I bought Scheherazade on Apr. 29th from BMT and just realized yesterday that it's not working. I thought I was having an issue with the cheat file I was trying to use, but it's actually the game itself, I think. There's apparently something wrong with the Inspiration cards, because during the tutorial the error appears when prompted to solve the security guard obstacle. I can't ignore the error because then the Inspiration card screen won't go away, and I have to manually escape and close the game. Here is the full traceback: I'm sorry, but an uncaught exception occurred. While running game code: File "game/tutorial.rpy", line 2055, in script File "game/tutorial.rpy", line 2071, in <module> File "game/obstacle.rpy", line 125, in display File "game/obstacle.rpy", line 185, in apply_inspire TypeError: add_stat_value_to_all() takes exactly 2 arguments (3 given) --Full Traceback-- Full Traceback: File "game/tutorial.rpy", line 2055, in script File "C:/Program Files (x86)/Scheherazade/renpy/ast.py", line 785 in execute renpy.python.py_exec_bytecode(self. code. bytecode, self. hide, store=self.store) File "C:/Program Files (x86)/Scheherazade/renpy/python.py", line 1382 in py_exec_bytecode exec bytecode in globals, locals File "game/tutorial.rpy", line 2071, in <module> File "game/obstacle.rpy", line 125, in display File "game/obstacle.rpy", line 185, apply_inspire TypeError: add_stat_value_to_all() takes exactly 2 arguments (3 given) Windows - 7 - 6. 1. 7601-SP1 Ren'Py 6. 18. 3. 761 I've uninstalled the demo, deleted the Scheherazade folder in the Renpy folder (as well as deleted it from the recycling bin), uninstalled and re-installed Scheherazade several times and it's still not working, so it must be something wrong with the game. I even tried deleting the ast.py and python.py files in the renpy folder inside the Scheherazade folder to see if that was the problem, but the error still appeared, listing those same two renpy files, just in a different directory (how, I don't know, I couldn't find them after deleting them). I had downloaded the demo from Desura on the 28th and it played fine. Should I have bought it from Desura instead of BMT? Because it seems like there's something wrong with the link BMT gave me. Also, something I mentioned before: is the version supposed to say 1.0.3.0 because that's the version the last patch was for, or is it supposed to say 1.1.0.0? The one I have still says 1.0.3.0, and I thought that was strange so I figured I'd ask. If the problem is the BMT link, will they send me a new one, or will I have to get Scheherazade from Desura? Legate of Mineta
Jazzy92; That is definitely very odd- the version should say 1.1.0.0, and that version *should* be the one from BMT, given the date. Assuming that you are using a new game, and not a save file from the demo, you should have no issues playing the game. Can you confirm that you are creating a new game, and that, when you do so, you see the incorrect version? Let us know, and thanks!
Jazzy92
I took screenshots to show I've deleted the old saves and that it says 1.0.3.0, but I can't seem to upload them to the site. Could you message me your email so I can send the screenshots to you?

Could you message me your email so I can send the screenshots to you? I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but try taking your other games out of the ren'py folder and save them somewhere temporally. Completely delete the ren'py folder. Again make sure no version of Scheherazade is installed anywhere. Download a new copy of exe file from BMT again and install from there. Make sure there is no other versions of the install exe file so you do not get them confused. The game will make a new Ren'py folder *then you can put your other games back in side there.* Another idea. If this is not a new link to BMT for the install of the game. I would write and ask them to send you a new link, just incase the link you have is tied to the older version. I hope any of this helps
Legate of Mineta
Jazzy; Zoo's steps are good, especially about the link.
Command
add_stat_value_to_all() takes exactly 2 arguments (3 given) This most certainly means that the install is not clean. Ditto Zoo's suggestions.
Jazzy92
No dice. I moved the other games to my desktop, deleted the Renpy folder (from the recycling bin, as well), uninstalled and re-installed Scheherazade, and it still says Version 1.0.3.0 and won't play past the Inspiration tutorial. But thank you for all your help, I really appreciate it I emailed BMT, explained that they'd possibly given me an older version of the game that's not working, and asked for a new link for Version 1.1.0.0. I'll post an update on the situation once I've heard back from BMT.
