  1. Somehow I think that Necromancy would be the most interesting power-source here The clockwork would conceal the working undead and the undead could even work at the steam engines. (Beside that we current have interesting locations for Gate & Mastery but not for the also forbidden art of Necromancy )
  2. I remembered correct there is a step in the Main Quest Headmaster side where you can gain coordination but the roll is quite difficult if you don't have Coordination already https://academagia.fandom.com/wiki/A_Note_from_the_Headmaster_(Adventure)#Phase_2:_Duel
  3. How is the Palazzo degli Armeggi powered? Clockwork is only good for energy storage and transfer while steam engine need people to keep the fire burning what runs counter to "don't even need magic or servants".
  4. From a fast view in the wiki I would say Calming Air should be the most sure way. But coordination is also a skill used in adventures (i.e. I think to remember that the Legate side of the main adventure give it at a step) so that there sure better ways.
  5. When it comes to the supernatural then Chinese writer are quite different to the European one. This already start with what the traditional focus of the Alchemy was, in European history the focus was to make gold while in Chinese history it was to find a way to extend the live. While the European story more and more dropped the Alchemy part toward what we today understand as magic that use some kind of external energy source, rarely internal energy source, that is canalized trough words and gestures into supernatural effects. In Chinese story alchemy still stay strong and there 2 different versions of alchemy the internal and external one. The external alchemy makes lasting changes trough using different materials together. The internal alchemy, something we see in many cultivation story of the Chinese today, is how external materials make lasting change in the body, mind or soul (for lack of better word here) of a person so that they can do supernatural effects that go beyond what a normal person can do. Beside @Rhialto did you forget to put the link to the blog you talking about in your posting? (The reason I talk about European and not Western story are the superhero stories that mostly came from America where the initial change that make someone superpowered is more in line with the Chinese internal alchemy)
  6. 2) How complicated are the Mercenary contracts in the world of Academagia in the recent years? (Watched a TV show today that told that the mercenary contracts in the Italy city states did become more complicated over time and at some point advocates where needed on both sides)
  7. Anyway happy anniversary to Academagia, hopeful we have at last year 2 and year 3 before the next decade anniversary!!!!!
  8. If BCS planed anything for the 10. anniversary I think we would already know about it as the 1st release was at the 08-13-2010 and so 1 week ago.
  9. I supect the biggest chance is with the Pheme you can only learn from a Professor via Favor.
  10. So are the Dawn Games something that is planed for the player to help bringing back? (As Mahouka reader I love the 9 School competition there and so a big intra-school or inter-school competition where the player can join would be a nice thing)
  11. The Infirmary Library could be a place that change from the broad topics it offers in year 1 to be more narrow minded toward Negation, Brew and Theory of XXXX in a later year but in return it becomes useful for unlock skill level past 10.

It sound like Negation magic will need to know the Magic Theory of all other schools of magic to be good at it so I wonder: Will later years allow to focus on the theory of the different magic schools? (For me in year 1 it is nearly as easy to become a generalist as it is to focus on all the theories because there is no action / ability to exclusive focus on learning the theory .. to my knowledge ^^)

  16. So even someone who have the dual focus Engineering and Enchantment still need extra study time to become a master airshipwright? I suspect that people planning to work in the Weather office (or how it is called again) need some extra incantation training before working there?! Otherwise the regulations around weather magic make little sense when the strong spells are not limited to people working in that field.
  17. Are there other common mage jobs beside the mentioned one from the Imperial Temple that need years of education after graduated from Academagia?
  18. Is the Astrology of the Imperial Temple more accurate then what we learn at Academagia?
  19. How uncommon are clock- and steampunk like creations? Are there any famous clock- or steampunk like objects?
  20. Is it intended that the year 2 import tool check each student if they can cast at last 1 spell? (I personal doubt it as it would mean year 2 already need to handle drop outs)
  21. What where the spells the player was asked if (s)he can demonstrate at end of the year 1? I suspect its different depend on the class that was taken.
  22. It is kind of sad that such info isn't transmitted to the player when creating a character. I.e. I had not to few character that only have Enchant or Calligraphy as "magic" class skills. Would student who can craft magic item by the end of year 1 also stopped to move on to year 2 if they can't demonstrate a normal spell?
  23. but if you focus exclusive on familiar I don't think you can stay long in Academagia, even if your a Morvidus student. You might manage to get past year 2 with be great in handling your familiar and some non / not so magical subjects but I doubt they let you pass year 3. Hmm wait Aranaz have with history a pure non magic main subject now ... that make me wonder if there was someone already who managed to go through 4 or 5 years who can't handle the Palette - Pheme casting? (don't think it possible for the player as each skill have spells and pheme in Y1)

We forum reader still need to remind us that there is still a lot of time before the release of a Y2 where even already announced things could be kicked out of the game again because they are no fun or not important enough for the still needed development time. (Like Alchemy was dropped pretty late from the Y1 development)
