  1. It might be just me, but after over 2 years of silence there could be something about Academagia again over at your twitter. (hopeful something about year 2 or a fix to year 1 )
  2. for BMT you can either ask the Legate to resend you a download link or try http://download.bmtmicro.com/ if you still have your e-mail If all you still have is the e-mail address where you bought your game you still can ask the Legate for help, some years back the people at Positech Games managed to help me with just the knowledge of the e-mail where I bought a game from them. But sure if you no longer owner of the e-mail you once used to buy the game and also no longer have a own backup of the game then your out of luck but if you i.e. no longer own the e-mail address you used at steam you earlier or later will lose all games you have there (at latest when you use a different PC).

There where other shops in the past Impulse … after take over by Gamestop they stopped to sell Academagia Beamdog but they no longer sell products beside their own GamersGate BCS removed the game from there once they managed the Steam release (probably because the store is by today mostly only a key reseller for Steam) There was also a Cloud Gaming Platform where you could buy or rent the game but that is also closed by now According to the Legate they also tried to get on GOG but got refused From my understanding there only 3 shop beside Steam, GOG and BMT that could be interesting for BCS - The Ubisoft Store: but I'm not sure they should try this store out before their next release as this store also try to start a game abo program and might give away games like Academagia for free (yes that means BCS would get nothing at all from this for free sales) - Humble Bundle (Although most of the games they sell there are also just keys for Steam) - itchio indie game store that take everyone … I mean really everyone resulting even the best games get drowned there and its actual a lot worse then having a store like BMT on your own webpage. Despite all the hate Steam is the platform with the most potential customer and offer a lot of service for the developer and gamer, combined with BTM that sell a complete DRM free version every taste for a shop should be covered from a buyer perspective.
  4. 1) With the history focus of Aranaz is it one of the possible topics for the last year project to research why a pillar did fall out of favor and what it still can offer for a modern mage? 2) Although it is typical for Vernin to craft an object for the last year is it also accepted to put up an paper with research of a specific enchanting / artifice method , even if it is from pillar that no longer is in use? 3) Is the project for the last year chosen freely by the student or is the mentoring mage select it for the student? 4) Because Pheme are one of the important part in modern magic, where there last year projects that focus on a specific / or group of similar pheme in the past and if so in what college(s)?
  5. 2) Is it legal to research old but no longer practiced magic "pillars" as long they not belong to mastery or gate magic?
  6. 1) Is there a variant of Orthography that is based on geometry instead of letters?
  7. I think by limiting the affected sub skills to 3 a Revision of Skills for Skill + Subskill can work out. 1st of all the magic work only for Skills where the caster know at last 3 sub skills. (Needed to prevent exploits and bugs) Then there 2 Skill selector that each unlock 3 sub skill selector of the selected skill that only show known skills. Each Skill and Subskill can only selected once in one casting. Given the clear follow up of Skills and Subskills for both it should be clear enough what skills are switched with what other skill. Only if all 8 slot are set the turn can be progressed. What I'm not sure if the AI could handle such "complicate" spells.
  8. 1) Are there spells like Revision of Skills planed that affect the main skill including the sub skills? (I suspect the answer is no because its difficult to decide what sub skill will affect what sub skill of the recipient skill) 2) Are there official placed magical navigation beacon that can be targeted by divination magic of different schools to get the exact direction and maybe even distance to it? (Because overlapping magic can become problematic I suspect such magic is placed and refreshed by a office instead of every boat navigator who know a bit of magic place their own beacon at each harbor)
  9. If I remember right there was also the problem that only one background with negative points work per background category.
  10. The Legate told us already that most of the year 1 adventures have some kind of solution in year 2 even if the player didn't start the adventure or done it partial.
  11. I suspect if for a duration up to a few years its mostly Mercenary work, but for long term employment you probably either train them your self or direct recruit from magic or combat schools / instructors.
  12. @Rhialto as far I can see you can register also without a Social Media account but still $19.99 ahead payment when they not even post a screenshot about the game on their own webpage leave a very bad taste.

  14. If they find a fix for the save bug plaguing the steam release then I suspect they will push out a update even before year 2 release. But otherwise I wont set my hopes high that there will be any fixes before year 2 is released,
  15. 1) What is the most common way to get into contact with this traveling mercenary? 2) Are magical communications devices know that can connect to different other devices similar to our phones? 2b) How common and mobile are such devises?
  16. 1) Are there many mercenary companies that make one or more Airship their home instead of a isle? 2) What laws are ship based vagabonds under as long they are not at a isle? (Beside the one set by the ship owner)

    Currently at best you could translate DLC 15 but not the most recent release. Also there some issues with the mod tools we have where they not work as they should when create a new mod with modern OS and I'm not sure if this also would affect a pure translation project that just change existing texts. Anyway if you want to try you should be able to download the needed files from this posting: We are supposed to get new mod tools after year 2 is released that also should work with year 1 and the most recent AMM released for year 1 by BCS. (The old mod tools we have can't use this AMM that why DLC 15 is the last you can currently use for your translation project) I suspect you can use the DLC 15 AMM and the old mod tools to already start with your epic work in translating this Book series worth of text using external files to save the translation and then once we get new Mod Tools finish the translation.
  18. I think the differences between D20 Magic and Academagia Magic is to big. If someone want to play just a magic academy setting similar to Academagia I think Ars Magica is the better system although you need to kick out the world setting of Ars Magica for that. (I.e. usually in a ArM5 setting you can't teach multiple Apprentice at once in magic and according to the Apprentice book a apprentice just get thought 1 season per year. But if you allow to teach multiple student at once then there is no problem with the apprentice learning 3 seasons per year and so be finished in ~5 years instead of 15 years.)

Although one need to adjust the difficulties I think using something like Skill + Attribute + 1d10 as replacement for the usual roll from Academagia should work with the character system of Academagia. (If you using a computer dice system you can even use the actual "dice" system Academagia is using)
  20. You can look at the lore with the mod tools if you can get the mod tools and the mod base before the last one. The last mod base sadly don't work with the mod tools we got and so we have to wait for Y2 mod tool release to use it. Natural you only get the Lores that was added till DLC 15 with the DLC 15 AMM but that is the best outside of ingame hunting for the Lores you can do for now.
  21. So you say only writings from us related to (our?) year 1 material might be put into year 2 so far and all the other writing is planed for a later DLC?
  22. Drop out of one or more from the core member for what ever reason is one scenario I can imagine to get projects from BCS cancelled. (Given that in the last ~6 month I lost 2 people I know trough sudden death such scenario its not that uncommon given the many years of develoment! - one in a traffic ancient and the other just didn't weak up the next morning after going to sleep at a age of 43)
  23. Haha how do you think we feeling about Year 2? Edit: The Demo of Golden Treasure: The Great Green looks promising.

I didn't play / buy it so far but the last reviews at steam suggest that the team still have some way to go (random mess up the game and despite that each game feel nearly the same what for me sound really bad for a game that the developer say its a roguelike). Edit: Also it looks like they mostly got positive reviews from people getting the game for free or who like the concept. https://store.steampowered.com/app/956060/Mittelborg_City_of_Mages/ (I probably keep an eye on it but for sure won't buy it before it leave early access and given that they declared the early access release end of 2018 as alpha I think there is no final before 2020 probably even some more years later)
  25. 1) Will there different pictures for Students depend if their magic skill is good enough to alter their looks and / or a adventure chain related to them got to a certain point?
