  1. I've been looking for reviews of this game, but i haven't actually found any. Did you guys remember to send out review copies?
  2. Yeah, at least I still have my rug (and it's clean).
  3. Yeah, tell me about it. Luckily, my rent is relatively cheap, and I have a stash of cash for emergencies like this, so it's not a total disaster.
  4. Thanks Legate. I'm afraid it's gone for good, and even if it isn't, the cards have already been cancelled, so they're useless now anyway. The worst part is that I was carrying a rather hefty amount of cash, since I'd just made a rather large withdrawal, to pay the next 3 months rent. Sigh. Oh, well. I don't want to bring anyone down, so I'll stop ranting about my personal troubles. The good news is that I should receive a new visa card soon, which will enable me to buy this game, as a consolation.
  5. Yeah, I figured it probably wouldn't be this year. Sadly, I'm not getting Scheherazade right away either. Since my wallet was stolen yesterday, I don't have a credit card to purchase it with. Hopefully, I'll get the new one sometime next week.
  6. Alright! I knew checking the forums once every few months would pay off! I have no idea what this is, but I'm getting it right now, based on my experience with Academagia. Judging from the screenshots, it should run on my shoddy laptop. Any idea when we can expect year 2 of Academagia, by the way?
  7. Thanks a lot guys. It's interesting to see how far the game has come since it was released.
  8. Is there a consolidated change log available anywhere, covering all of the changes and additions made by all patches so far? I'm asking because I stumbled on a discussion elsewhere on the internet, where some people are asking what has changed since the game was released, and I can't remember all of it (or much of it, even).
  9. Alright, thanks. That's a long way off, to be sure, but it's good to see that you're not rushing it, at least.
  10. Could be. I can't remember, to be honest.
  11. I see. Although ~35 patches is still pretty impressive. @Legate: How's Year 2 coming along? Is it supposed to be released this year, or is next year?
  12. I can't believe you're already up to patch 40. That's dedication! It's been a while since I played Academagia, so I'm looking forward to checking it out, and seeing all the improvements and additions you guys have made in the meantime. I can't help but notice that the changelogs are getting pretty short. I guess you're running out of issues to fix.
  13. I would love to see more games of this kind, not just the sequels for this game, but other games using other settings, too. If some kind of combat mechanic could be implemented, the engine could probably be used for pretty much any rpg setting imaginable. PC rpg's need to focus more on writing than on graphics, imo, and I'm glad to see Academagia take this approach. Kudos to the developers.
  14. Seconded. These books are truly excellent. I worry, though, that Martin won't ever finish the series. He's taking a long, long time writing each book, and he's not getting any younger. edit: btw, there are also two short stories by GRRM, set in the same universe, about 100 years or so earlier, iirc. They're called The Hedge Knight and The Sworn Sword. I haven't actually read the short stories, but both have been adapted into comic books, both of which I did read, and they are definitely recommended for any fan of A Song of Ice and Fire. I've been reading Glen Cook's Black Company books. I'm only on the third one, and while it isn't quite as good as the two first (so far, anyway), I'd say that the series is good, and I recommend it. It follows a mercenary company, and their exploits in a larger conflict, and in some ways it's reminiscent of Martin's books, mainly in that the good guys aren't really that good, there's blood and rape, and main characters die.
  15. I can't remember if this has been mentioned yet, but how about adding an ironman mode? I very much enjoy playing certain types of games in ironman mode, but I usually don't have the spine to go through with it if I have the option to reload. It's not a huge deal, but I think this game would lend itself very well to that type of play.
