Amada Feels Like A Medusa

Recommended Posts

Utterly inspired from Fletchin's Amada Feels Blue and a little bit of shameless copying.

(If you want me to remove it, Fletchin, feel free to post or PM me!)

[i am trying a gimmick here - the exits are all really difficult with grave consequence for failure, but you get a gazillion of investigations that are easy and give you some little boost that eventually stack enough to help you overcome the problem. And feel free to pitch in!)

It is incomplete for now, I have trouble writing Exits, and I intend to write a lot more investigations

UPDATE: I rewrote a little bit so you don't have to experience Amada Feels Blue and have blatant inconsistency.

GOALS:

12/15 Regular Investigations

0/1 "Interlude" Investigation that close others and open exits

0/8 Exits

===================================================================

Amada Feels Like A Medusa

Prerequisite

-After Mid-term exam

-(Is that possible?)

Main Part

Great. You are going to miss that special Enchant lesson taught by a satyr (more importantly, an expert chef)about sampling Enchanted Cakes!

@AmadaKiffer@ stands before you, wailing.

Of course, if it was just like the last time where her hair was less shiny then the mirror, you can shut her up by destroying whatever she compares herself to.

Well, this time it is far more challenging.

Giant snakes are growing out of her hair. And these guys are getting bigger and longer!

And looks like you can't just shrug and walk out - one of the snakes has blocked the door!

Quick - not only you don't want to miss the enchanted satyr cakes, you also don't want to die!

===================================================================

Investigations!

Investigation 1:Memorization. What did you do last time?(Memorization/Finesse vs 6, Prerequisite: Amada Feels Blue completed)

Success:

You look at Amada and try to remember how did you get out of the mess last time.

Banshee wailing, golden banshee, some deadly hairpins with phemes.....

Yes! You remember! You can't remember the exact method, but deep inside you remember either styling her hair or fixing it with a spell! Perhaps you can try to do the same?

You look at Amada and try to remember how did you get out of the mess last time.

Possessed wigs, needle hairs, Celestial Battle candies stampede...

No, it is way too stressful to think about it.

Expand Stress by 1

Investigation 2:Courage. Snakes are nothing to be feared!(Courage/Composure vs 7)

Success:

You close your eyes and take a deep breath.

Snakes are not scary. Oh, maybe they are. But this is not the time to panic.

You stop shaking. Good.

Failure:

You close your eyes and take a deep breath.

Snakes are not scary. Oh, maybe they are. But this is not the time to panic.

You stop shaking. Good.

Actually, not good. You just wet yourself.

Expand Stress by 1

Add Emotion: Embarrassed

Investigation 3:Reptiles. You know snakes from the inside out just by Observation!(Observation/Reptiles vs 8)

Success:

You observe the snakes expertly with both good observation skill and knowledge of reptiles.

Their fangs aren't sharp; in fact, they probably have trouble tearing apart a sheet of paper.

The snowflake pattern on their skins indicate their magical affinity to coldness and drowsiness.

And judging from how they position themselves so Amada don't topple over from their weight, they must be at least as intelligent as most magical familiars.

Seems you will have to deal with them extra-carefully.

Temporary bonus to Chance of Success by 3

Increase Glamour by 1

Increase Negation by 1

Increase Brute Strength by 1

Increase Mastery by 1 (Only if Mastery is informed and above 0)

Expand Observation by 1

Failure:

You observe the snakes expertly with both good observation skill and knowledge of reptiles.

Their fangs are scary-looking; the snakes probably scare their prey to death instead of using it.

The snowflake pattern on their skins indicate they are related to snowflakes.

And judging from how they position themselves so you couldn't get out, they must really hate you.

No effect.

Investigation 4:Sleuthing. What caused this to Amada's hair?(Sleuthing/Intelligence vs 10)

Success:

You quickly look at Amada's snake-hair, and it is obvious that magic is at work here.

But what ?

Temporary bonus to Chance of Success by 3

Open up Investigation 5:Enspell

Increase Enspell by 1

Failure:

You quickly look at Amada's snake-hair, and briefly wonder can the satyr turn Amada's hair into delicious roast snakes.

Ewwww, what are you thinking!?

Expand Cooking by 1 SS

Investigation 5:Enspell. Determine the magical cause. (Enspell/Gates Pheme vs 12)

Success:

You can feel it.....The phemes near Amada's hair.

Strange. It seems that a misdirected spell that either create or summon snakes hit Amada's hair.

Now that you know there is definitely a spell, you feel that you have a better chance negating it.

Temporary bonus to Chance of Success by 4

Increase Negation by 3

Failure:

You can feel it.....The divine power of the gods near Amada's hair.

Huh. It seems Amada probably annoyed the gods with her hair and this is a curse sent to her to teach her a lesson.

But why does it had to involves you!?

Open up Exit 8: Piety

Investigation 6:Relationship. Amada is your friend; you are going to try your best! (Appear only when relationship with Amada Kiffer is above 5, no failure)

Success:

You look at your friend silently.

She look back with tearful eyes silently.

And you silently come to the conclusion you must get her out of this mess, satyr cakes or not!

Temporary bonus to Chance of Success by 5

Expand Relationship with @AmadaKiffer@ by 1

Investigation 7:Music. Sing a lullaby to buy yourself sometime.(Music/Charm vs 14)

Success:

You hum and hum, hum and hum, hum and hum...

And on, and on, and on...

Yawn, yawn, yawn...

A few snakes begin to snore and broke your trance. Now there is less snakes to deal with!

Temporary bonus to Chance of Success by 5

Failure:

You clap and clap, clap and clap and -

Apparently, your lullaby is so bad that one of the snake decides to lash out at you.

You dodged it, but it makes you feel pretty bad.

Decrease Confidence by 1

Investigation 8:Famous Battles. Motivate yourself with how heroes acted in this situation! (Famous Battles/History vs 6)

Success:

Unfortunately for you, you can't think of much situation where heroic people are trapped in a room with somebody having snakes growing out of their hair.

Fortunately for you, you do remember all these epic stories always kill off the coward in the first few sentences, even though they make more sense.

Temporary bonus to Chance of Success by 5

Increase Courage by 1

Expand Creativity by 1

Failure:

Unfortunately for you, you can't think of much situation where heroic people are trapped in a room with somebody having snakes growing out of their hair.

To make it worse, you do remember all these epic stories always have their snakes be controlled by terrifying, malevolent force that sought revenge on anyone remotely related.

Meep!

Decrease Courage by 1

Investigation 9:School Survival. Is there anything you heard that actually helps!? (School Survival/Insight vs 20)

Success:

"Remember, if you somehow get yourself trapped with dangerous monsters nearby, try to survive!"

You jump and turn around, expecting Oans to burst through the blocked door.

Of course nobody showed up, but your heart grows warm at the thought that there will be people searching for you if you goes missing.

Add Emotion: Passion

Temporary bonus to Chance of Success by 5

Increase Incarnation by 1

Failure:

"I can't wait to see these stupid first-years get killed!"

You jump and turn around, searching for the source of the voice angrily.

You realize that's something you overheard from one of @PhillipeMarchant@'s older brother, and it is now stuck in your head.

Yes, you will survive. You will even get to these satyr cakes. You will show him!

Add Emotion: Passion

Investigation 10:Architecture. Is there anything you should know about the room? (Architecture/Intelligence vs 10)

Success:

You glance at the wall, glance at the ceiling, glance at the floor, and glance at the snakes (so that they can't sneak up on you while you are glancing about).

The walls and ceiling doesn't seems particularly soundproof, and the wall behind Amada seems to be enchanted with several complex enchantment to amplify speech!

At least if you scream when you die, people will hear it.

Increase Voice by 4

Failure:

You glance at the wall, glance at the ceiling, glance at the floor, and glance at the snakes.

Ooooooh, everything is so shiny! You took a moment to admire yourself through the reflective, shiny floor.

Increase Confidence by 1

Decrease Concentration by 2

Investigation 11:Question Self. Is it just you becoming stupider and madder?

(Requires Question Self ability, automatic success)

Success:

You quickly question your sanity because sane people wouldn't question themselves slowly with dangerous snakes nearby.

Yes, you are definitely sane because you questioned your own sanity in a totally sane way.

Expand Character 1 Step

Temporary bonus to Chance of Success by 7

(Same effect as the ability Question Self minus the stress)

Investigation 12:Seeking Friends in Hidden Places. Perhaps, just perhaps, something will help you out? (Seeking Friends In Hidden Places/Gates vs 4)

Success:

You flail your head around with your eyes bulging like ripe strawberries, complete with tears.

A blurry ghost immediately rush out from a nearby dark corner, pick up a snake, eat it, and phase through the wall.

Wow.

Temporary bonus to Chance of Success by 7

Failure:

You flail your head around with your eyes bulging like ripe strawberries, complete with tears.

Nothing comes to your aid after five whole minutes, and your eyes are in such pain that you are willing to just let the snake eat you.

Expand Stress by 3

CremePudding;

You might want to change investigation 3, snakes are reptiles not worms.

And how about Running to a professor for help ?

Hmm...good idea on getting professor's help, but I might opt for Voice check instead of Running. It seems more likely that a successful scream would alert the professors compared to running.

What do you think?

And thanks for pointing out the snakes-not-worms!

I talking about a Adventure not about a event because if it is a event the chances geting to low but if it is a Adventure the chances are the same as if it was a seperat event.

Also a Adventure have the advance the player can start it when he feels ready.

So this will be a Adventure then that require the Amanda feels Blue event first. The other advance its then that you can make it multi step if you whant and you dont need the midterm restriction any more ^^.

Adventure...Hmmmm........

 I suddenly want a deceptive title like "Enchanted Satyr Cupcakes" with the player stumbling into Medusa.

I guess I will edit it later, I am gonna sleep xD
