(Because I curent have problems puting the Gething Help Part together I post first the crafting steps for the Negation Wand)

Flags I need here from previous Steps and the changes in difficultys for them (Allready worked in, I put them here in chase the Team have to rewrite it because Temp. mods carry over):

MS Schwarzbart welcomes you at here home and after you told her that you whant to start the Enchanting today she lead you to here personal lab.

 

Investigation 3 School Survival: Go to one of the Public Labs of the Academagica

Prerequisite: Resin in the Inventory and Topaz, Small in the Inventory and Opal, Small in the Inventory and Schwarzbartweed in the Inventory and Leather Swatch in the Inventory and Negation Wand Recipe in the Inventory and No NegWand_Lab and No NegWand_Schwarzbart and No NegWand_Nembo

    All places in the Public Lab are used today.
    Because one of the other student just haved to leave, you now can work at this place.
  • Failure
    All places in the Public Lab are used and there even a vew people waiting already. You bether come back at a other day.

Exit 1 Jeweler: use Jeweler Tools to get the Topaz and Opal into small pices

Prerequisite: Investigation 2 or Investigation 3 or Investigation 1

    Your heart cry's when you haved to destroy such a nice Topaz. Still you haved to do it.

  • Failure
    You just placed the Opal on the table and look away for a moment and now its gone!
    Who would do such a thing?
    So you now have to search for a replacment for the Opal instead of Enchanting your Wand.

Exit 2 Alchemical Tools: Crush the Topaz and the Opal

Prerequisite: Investigation 3

Roll Alchemical Tools

  • Success
    You manage to crush both stones.
    It was a bit of work but the stones are now in small enough pieces.
    Direct Continue to Step 16
  • Failure
    Instead of crushing the Topaz you manage to destroy the tool you used for this.
    Because there is no replacement you have to tell Prof. "Random" about this.
    He/She gave you then a lecture about the correct use of the Tools and that you have come back a other day because all of this tools are in use today.

Exit 3 Alchemical Tools: Crush the Topaz and the Opal

Prerequisite: Investigation 2

  • Failure
    When MS Schwarzbart saw what your trying to do she immediatly stoped you.
    She then told you that the Tool you where using would break long bevore the Stones would be crushed.
    With the right tools you then managed to crush the stones.

    You manage to crush both stones.

With the prepartaions finished and all Alchemy Tools you need at its place you now start to heat the Resin.

 

Investigation 1 Brew: Heat the Resin

Requirement No Investigation 8 and No NegWand_Lab and No NegWand_Schwarzbart and No NegWand_Nembo

    The tools have seen bether days but you got your Resin viscius.
  • Failure
    I takes for ever to get the Resin viscius and when you try to increase the heat you even burnt your finger.
    But you still got the Resin viscius.
    Temp Chemistry -5 and Temp Roots -5 ; -1 Vitalty

  • Failure
    Removing the sap from the roots with a knive that is blunt while constant watching the resin was to much.
    The sap spoils all over you and over "Random Student" working at the station next to you.
    It hit some on your unprotected skin and the floor.
    To your luck a other Studend who waited for a free station helped you two and so prevent worse.
    Beside some marks on your face you have to start over with the resource gathering.
    Remove Resin; Remove Schwarzbartweed; -2 Vitality ; -1 Charm for 3 days; -1 Vitality to Random Student; -1 Relationship to Random Student; Continue to Step 4

Step 17

Negation Wand: Stir the Resin

You have added the sap of the Schwarzbartroots to your Resin and now you have to Stir it

 

Exit 1: Brute Strength: Stir the Resin

  • Success
    First it takes a lot of strength to stir the Resin but after a vew turns to the left it got much easyer.
    So you could focus on the counting 66 turns to the left and 66 to the right.
    Direct Continue to Step 17a
  • Failure
    Never would you have thought that stir the resin could be so excausing but the viscius resin is nearly unmovable.
    Still you manage the 66 turns to the left and the 66 turns to the right but now your out of breath
    +1 Stress

Negation Wand: Enchant the Resin

After the right stiring you now have to add the Phemes to the Resin

 

Exit 1: Phemes: Add the Normalize and Reveal Pheme

Requirement: NegWand_Nembo and No NegWand_DoneOnce

Roll Phemes -1 difficulty

  • Success
    You add the pheme of Normalize and then the pheme of Reveal to your resin bevore Nembo put the crushed topaz/opal mix in.
    Now you increase the heat and stir the Resin again till it turns colerless
    Remove Topaz, Small; Remove Opal, Small;Direct Continue to Step 18
  • Failure
    You added the Nomalize and Reveale pheme and then Nembo put the crushed topaz/opal mix in.
    But when you then wanted to continue with the stir the Resin became solid.
    All the time and money you spend till now are wasted and you have to start over.
    +1 Stress; Remove Topaz, Small; Remove Opal, Small; Continue to step 4

 

Exit 2: Phemes: Add the Normalize and Reveal Pheme

Requirement: NegWand_Schwarzbart and No NegWand_DoneOnce

    You add the pheme of Normalize and then the pheme of Reveal to your resin bevore Ms Schwarzbart put the crushed topaz/opal mix in.
    Now you increase the heat and stir the Resin again till it turns colerless

    "No, No, haven't your teacher showed you how to cast them right?"
    She then tryed to fix your mistake but it was to late.

Exit 3: Phemes: Add the Normalize and Reveal Pheme

Requirement: No NegWand_Schwarzbart and No NegWand_Nembo and No NegWand_Lab and No NegWand_DoneOnce

Roll Phemes

  • Success
    You add the pheme of Normalize and then the pheme of Reveal to your resin bevore puting the crushed topaz/opal mix in.
    When you turn up the heat you burn your finger. Even with the burn you manage to stir the Resin again till it turns colerless.

  • Failure
    You added the Nomalize and Reveale pheme and then put the crushed topaz/opal mix in.
    Turning up the heat sudenly there was a big flash followed with a loud noice comming from the right.
    Some kind hot fluid is spraying over your right side.
    When you finaly can see and hear again all left from your resin is a solid black clump.
    The student on your right is already surounded by other people so you head of to the.
    Your just angry that everything you was working on so fare is wasted just because of a other student.
    -2 Vitality; Remove Topaz, Small; Remove Opal, Small; Continue to step 4

 

Exit 4: Enchant: Add the Normalize and Reveal Pheme

    You add the pheme of Normalize and then the pheme of Reveal to your resin bevore puting the crushed topaz/opal mix in.
    Now you increase the heat and stir the Resin again till it turns colerless
    Remove Topaz, Small; Remove Opal, Small;Direct Continue to Step 18
  • Failure
    You added the Nomalize and Reveale pheme and then put the crushed topaz/opal mix in.
    When you started to stir again the Resin got darker and final start to become solid.
    Somthing did go wrong and now you have to start over.
    All the time and money you spend till now are wasted!

    You add the pheme of Normalize and then the pheme of Reveal to your resin bevore puting the crushed topaz/opal mix in.
    Now you increase the heat and stir the Resin again till it turns colerless
    Remove Topaz, Small; Remove Opal, Small;Direct Continue to Step 18
  • Failure
    You added the Nomalize and Reveale pheme and then put the crushed topaz/opal mix in.
    When you started to stir again the Resin got darker and final start to become solid.
    Somthing did go wrong and now you have to start over.
    All the time and money you spend till now are wasted!
    +1 Stress; Remove Topaz, Small; Remove Opal, Small; Continue to step 4

 

Its a bit unlogical that the player still have the Topaz and Opal in the inventory after haveing crushed in step 15 but its the best way because even crushed they could be use in a other try.

But checking for a other Flag or item would get to much.

The Check for the Player knowing the Phemes and Spells will be added to step 5a (the same check will be added to step 5 in front of Step 6 also because I hate it when the Adventure vanish and you dont remember why)

3 More Steps to write till the crafting is finsished.

Edit 27.04.11 I was able to remove the investigation I have here with just one more step so I did this and so could keep the 2nd try also in this. Probably I will place a fork depending on the Wand in step 18 and make a renumbering

Wonder how many people will try the Dragon Bone Wand Enhancement in the Public lab and then get supprised by the Conceal roll or try the Dragon Bone Wand with Nembo and then wondering about the Blackmail. ^^

I am curent unsure about the SS Reward (if at all) I will give out on this day.

Btw Day 1 finished with this,hopefull I find time tomorrow to make the day 2 :)

Perhaps I should add 2 more exits to split Investiagtion 3 off but not today, also I will ignore the Mondshine need for now ^^.

 

The Conceal roll actually kinda make senses (if the professors don't catch you, a student would mess you up), so it is not that big a surprise.

 

The Nembo blackmail was surprising enough, though.

I'd goes all Mastery on him and tell him to take a bath in a bucket of potions, but I think Journalism (Destroy Nembo's reputation), Brute Strength, and Blackmail itself will be good exits ;)

    He just leaves the room and comes a moment later back with Prof Leith.

Made from the bone of a Dragon, this wand Increases Concentration, Incantation, Mastery and all Negation skills by 1 each. This Wand also have Affinities with the Fire (x3), Inferno (x3) and Dispel (x2) phemes. Interesting is that after the Enhancment the Wand also gives +1 to Finnese.

 

Compared to a normal Dragon Bone Wand the Leather grip gives a good hold. There is a weak yellow-green gloom sorunding the blue Phemes drawn on this wand.

    Talking about Enchanting looks to be one of his favorit topics so you talk with him for some time bevore you ask him if he can help you with your Wand crafting.
    He told you because he still have to bring a crafting project to Prof Leith he would like to have a look at the recipe.
    After you showed him the recipe he agree to work together with you on this recipe if he can present the finished Negation Wand as a Team Project to Prof. Leith.
    When you agree to this condition he says that he will arange some things so that we can start with the crafting next time.

    He Happy agrees to help you after he saw the recipe and you told him that its ok to show the finished wand as a team project to Prof. Leith.
    So next time you meet Nembo you finaly can start with the crafting of the Wand.

    So you learned a bit about Orthography and managed to reserv a personal Lab where you then can craft your Wand, sadly without any extra help.

I think removing the choosen option is punishment enough for failing a roll after gething so fare and because the last 2 rolls where without reward every exit get a +1 reward.

Edit: Slight reworked Step 15 to go bether allong with the Editor limits and started to fork the Personal Lab way into a seperat path. (when finished with the fork this way will be repeatable)

Step 14b

Negation Wand: MS Schwarzbart

From what you remember Ms Schwarzbart lives in a Vila at the Piazza Athanasius. So you went there and soon you spot a huge house where the Sign in front says Schwarzbart.

The Sign also mentions something about group coaching in Enchant, Calligraphy and Alchemy.

When you pull the cord to ring the bell some kind of flute music sounds. You where about to leave when the door got opened from a old woman who introduce here self as Ms Schwarzbart.

After you told here why you are her she tells you that here usual Prices are 750 pims per Afternoon or 1000 pims per day.

But only if all she have to do is watch over a Student working in here Lab, try to prefent him from making mistakes and help out a bit.

When you show here the recipe you whant to work on and tell here that your a first year at the Academagia she say I think going with the 2 times 750 pims sould be ok even if it looks like I have to help you more then I usualy do.

 

Default 1 This is to much so you try it alone

You thank Ms Schwarzbart for the info but here rates are to high for you. So you return to he Academagica and start the crafting next time

    All she request in return is that you talk postiv about the service she offers at the Academy

You Hand over the weed and the Money. She then tells you that she hope you will come back soon with all material needed.

    On your way back you remember where you can find the reservation list for this Personal Labs.
    At the Academy you then put your name on the list so you have one reserved when you want to start.

    So a Public Lab have to do it for you.

'Eck' I just realised that there is a problem with the Public Lab if I send the player back to step 4 to do shoping. (No flag is set and so he can try again to find help, so I have to put the player on the Personal Lab as soon he fails or add a new Flag to prevent this)

Location Villa Schwarzbart

 

Villa Schwarzbart is at the Piazza Athanasius.

The old Lady living there offers Group Coaching in Enchant , Calligraphy and Brew.

She have this class 2 times a week and ask for 50 pim each visit.

Even with this not small price her group almost allways have 10 or more students.

She also offers the watchover and assist in crafting projects but this is up to seperat negotiate.

 

Group coaching

Ms Schwarzbart have Group Coaching two times a week.

She teaches then about Calligraphy, Brew and Enchant.

Even with the price of 50 pim per visit she usualy have 10 or more people in a group.

 

+1 Random Enchant SS; +1 Random Brew SS; +1 Random Calligraphy SS; cost 50 pim per use and she only do this 2 times per week

 

If posible fix this to Tuesday and Thursday if not work with delay.

This can also be added to Step 3b of Part 1 but I dont think its a problem if not because the Char could simply not watch out for the sign when he get there together with Ms Schwarzbart,

 

Do I hear someone say Moneysink? :P

Worked out the Teaching of Ms Schwarzbart and found a way to reduce the posible Help you have when you already started on your own. So I think Part 3 is finished.

I still have to work in the way to enable the Step 2 after the player gone trough it once but I think the adventure is now ready for a full onetime playtrough.

Edit: Now I also give a litle Passive Ability when manage to craft the first non failed Wand. Maybe I still sould place some more SS give outs but I leave this up to the team.

I am also ... then I will try a Durand Char with Enchant Class :) or maybe even without to full use the training Ability ;)

Edit: Thinking about it this quest became a good quest for Durand Chars who already have some good source of money.

It seems there is already a Year 1 student that has "Nembo" as a first name :huh:

He is called Nembo Magsa, in College Durand.

Maybe you might want to change your Nembo's name, or give him a proper last name...

(Nembo Schwarzbart actually sounds very good! :lol: )

ups, didnt realise this ^^ but hey why cant have a 3th year and a 1st year the same first name? :P And no Ms Schwarzbart is the only Schwarzbart I curent whant to put into the game Nembo could have a other past Name.

 

 

So ... I put up the changes for making the Part 2 repeatable, this was hopefull the last changes I haved to make for Part 2 and Part 3. Yes Part 4 of Step 1 will still get some changes when I add the onetime-ways to get more Schwarzbartweed.

Sadly I haved to touch every step of Part 2 for this. Step 4 Exit 2 and Exit 3 was changed so they no longer block repeating use and Step 13 now got this checks and a extra exit for all future try to craft a wand.

Very sweet! Well done. I'm amazed that you kept track of it all. (I only followed a few lines to see how it went and there are ALOT of possibilities here) Very neat that the fails aren't just fails.
