General Victory Belles Questions Thread

Recommended Posts

Obviously it depends on the Belle, but as they are national symbols in some cases (Deutschland, Bulldog, Hood), how into the national sports are they? Especially considering the current World Cup and that England beat Germany 6-3 in 1938?

I speculated Nürnberg should be pretty much into football. "Her" club is one of the two national football super powers.
The 6-3 is probably not so much debated in Germany. England beat almost anyone at will at that time. And the match was over a year ago.
One spicy note: The coach of Germany from 1936-1942 was the same who won the World Cup 1954, since he was put back into office in 1950 until 1964. Oh and there existed no german national team between 1942 and 1950.....

destroyers as strikers

cruisers as midfielders

battlecruisers as sweepers

battleships as defenders

carriers as goalkeeper

The argument can be made that destroyers and light cruisers should be the defender/goal keepers acting as radar/sonar pickets.

and lose their speed as strikers no way and carriers specialised in catching small fast moving objects in the air

They did, but the experts in knocking small fast moving objects out of the skies would be the destroyers and cruisers specialized for AAA duty.

Pretty sure it was probably answered before, but why did the War College swap Belfast in for Mahan? Not that I’m complaining. I love the Irish lass. Just curious

Also, who are the starter Belles for each nation? Excluding the KS backer tier reward ones. I remember some, like Rawalpindi and Bulldog for UK (which I’m gonna have a hell of a time deciding between) and Mahan is one for the US

it's Mahan's favourite Russian destroyer Leningrad as the Russian starter. Which means with the exception of Pindi all the starters are destroyer

lazarus;

Spain is Canarias, if you have her from the Campaign. :)

I made a list of the starters a few days ago, and I decided not to include the campaign belles.  I was on the fence as to whether or not you'd be able to pick them as starters.  Are they available as such?

Yes, the campaign unlocks are all starters.

Each Nation (not the Minors) has at least 3...

In that case you’ll have to give me some time to remake my list.

I have a question that's been nagging at me and maybe this has been answered either here or elsewhere but I haven't found anything definitive, now obviously the game starts September 1 1939, but as was kinda alluded to the true presence of the Morganas seems to have been deemed unimportant for a few days (imagine my shock a European ground war being more important). Would the United States still start its neutrality patrols in the western Atlantic on September 5 1939 and if so can we count on some of the historical events of that period to still happen, like the incident involving USS Tuscaloosa, HMS Hyperion and the liner SS Columbus on December 14 1939?

What are Vestures? I'm certain there was an update where they were discussed, but I don't know which one it would be at. What kinds of items are Vestures?

I think they are mementos or symbol of certain belles. They are used for summoning and upgrading I think
