Who will be your "best ship"...whether she's in the game already or not?

I feel that Yukikaze should definitely be in the game. One of the last survivors of the IJN with an impressive record that included some of the most one-sided defeats for Japan in the war. She'd have loads of personality (and maybe a little PTSD). She's also far to iconic to leave out in my opinion. Just an idea for the devs to think about. >_>

I'm sure she'll end up in the game, but she wasn't commissioned until 1940, so she won't be in it until the '40 update.

But she was launched in March of '39. I think that counts!

I think I'll wait until I'm actually playing the game to really commit to one belle, but as of right now (and you can probably guess) it'd be Algerie. I've always been interested in the real life ship, and I love vb's interpretation of her. But I also love Belfast, La Motte-Picquet, and New Orleans, and I'm excited to see more French ships in the future like Richelieu and others like Washington, Iowa, etc.

For me, I think it's going to be BB-55 North Carolina, first of the new generation of US battleships. She was commissioned 1941 though...

The cutoff for launch is 1939 right, to fit the start of the game's story. I'm more familiar with IJN ships before that time, such as the other (almost) unsinkable destroyer Shigure and the homegrown dreadnought class Fuso battleships.

We've had confirmation that some later ships will be implemented in updates as the game goes on. the first release wave will all be pre-1939, but thankfully the 1941+ designs will be in the game too. We'll just have to wait a while.

I think I'm with Arzuros... I'm gonna need to see more pictures, as well as who's being added during what section of the timeline (Who's added in 1939 and release? Who's added in 1940? etc. etc. etc.)

Fairly good guarantee that my 'best' will probably be a German, but it'll depend on look and combat performance~ I love Spee's look so far, as well as Scharnhorst's, Z18's and Z17s.... But, I like most of the Belles so far~

May have to drop one there, Nel. At least in the kickstarter trailer it looks like a fleet of 6 in combat. It shows 7 ships on the passports in port, but I'm not sure if you can bring them all out. It looks like you'll have no trouble keeping any amount of ships in reserve, but the sortie size is limited. We'll find out later.

If I can't convince America or Britain to send over some obsolete carriers, I guess I'll have to contend with land based planes.

Unleash the Freccias! Muahahahaha! Nel, you ought to do the same.

Nevermind the short range....

There were two of them, y'know.

Do you want the Fiat CR.32 or the Fiat G.50?

Hopefully the G.50.

Which is one of my all time favorite planes in Warthunder. Nothing out turns it.

Nothing at all.

Well, the Finns apparently liked it. Had its fair share of issues, but overall they did well.

One G.50 ace was asked by an Italian reporter years after the war if he knew that Italian pilots didn't remember the Freccia fondly.

He answered : "In that case you could have sent us more; we sure could have used them."

That seems to make sense, since in the Mediterranean I seem to recall a lot of the air combat was intercepting bombers which were attacking ships or positions in North Africa. The G.50 is not a good interceptor, but the Russians used their aircraft for low and slow ground support and the escorting of said ground support. Low altitude nad low speed, the G.50 is nothing short of incredible.

EXCEPT THE CHAIKA.

Rlly m8? Never had a problem with the Chaikas, but then again I don't often fight the Russians. Maybe I never met a good Chaika pilot? :P
