Actually according to the last update, the alpha's already starting. It's the Beta we're supposed to start in March.

Ooohhhhh! Who gets access to the Alpha?

Maybe the contest can go to the Beta :). It's definitely a way to encourage Victory Belles fans to come out of the woodwork :D.

As far as I can tell, just the VB crew gets the Alpha, and there's no word yet (and probably won't be) on if that will change. The Beta, IIRC, is free to anyone who contributed to the kickstarter or first set of Paypal bundles after the Kickstarter ended. But this is all probably better for Legate to respond to.

I think you're probably right. We just need a way to get people involved. It's kinda exciting that artists around the world are drawing Victory Belles girls :D.

I agree, we definitely need to get people involved! And a couple situational invites to the Alpha might be enough to do that! Besides, fan feedback on the gameplay and bug testing could be really useful info that couldn't be retrieved with a super small control group! *hint hint*, Legate! Hehehehe....

I do agree that advertising the game in the form of competitions could start inspiring a creative circle around the game.

I for one need to keep writing my stories. I would be much inclined to do so if there was a contest involved.

Yep, Alpha is closed, but Beta is for backers. May be some exceptions, but we'll see. :)

I personally love the idea of a contest, but the VB Team would have to set that up. :)

Talk to them about it whenever you have the chance. You guys have an artist flame burning...try and make it grow :D.

I have a suggestion for if a contest were ever to happen. Since we already have a few writers and artists, the ones who aren't already doing it might feel at a disadvantage and decide not to join if there is only one prize. They'd think that they're unlikely to win and won't even bother since they'll get nothing out of it. So to increase potential submissions and the fan base's participation, you should offer rewards for second and third place, etc.. For example, if first prize gets into the closed alpha, second gets the $100 Kickstarter backed tier if they don't already have it, and third gets a $25 backer tier or similar.

Maybe the art book can be put up as a prize...

The reason I don't think that will work, Ninja, is in the case that one of th winners already has those tiers. I know it's an example, but that in particular doesn't provide much more in the way of incentive, and BCS may be hard-pressed to give away higher tiers as prizes.

That's the thing, the prizes can be chosen by BCS, and if people already have certain tiers, then BCS can confer with them or with the general constituency to choose prizes. Those were just examples. The actual prize options are up to BCS.

That concept is an option; I agree.

Though personally I would suggest more than one person gets in to the Alpha with whatever prizes they give out because I know the chances of me winning first is negligible. It would be in my best interest. :P

Anything that was part of the Kickstarter cannot be given away as a prize IMHO. Nothing about prizes was outlined in the Kickstarter and to dilute the benefit of the Kickstarter could be seen as a betrayal to the Kickstarter participants and could affect BCS in future Kickstarter campaigns. This is why BCS has been so adamant that the benefits of the Kickstarter cannot be bought later even by people who can come up with the same amount of money.

As far as winning an Alpha ticket, I cannot imagine BCS making an alpha participant so public and therefore likely to be badgered. I get the sense that BCS likes to keep those participating in development pretty closely held. That's why Legate is their sacrificial lamb representative to the Captains.

Well said, Yuri. I see what you mean, and I was thinking something similar about the Kickstarter. I didn't previously think about what you're saying regarding the Alpha, but it certainly makes sense. Well, we'll just have to wait and see.

Thanks for clearing that up, Doc. Those were just examples though. The idea is that BCS should definitely run a contest for fan works, although the prizes can be left up to them.

If there is anything about fandoms I do know if we have porn then its popular or getting there yes we have a couple of pics that are definitely not safe for work. I was looking for pics of Victory Belles on safebooru except neither showed up so that me tells if we want to see them its on Safebooru's more explicit fellow websites both of the pics are about the Morgana Corruption

Seems weird to start a beta in the month the game is supposed to be releasing. Or did it get delayed already?

I thought the actual game released in September to coincide with the start of WW2? Was I wrong?
