Adrian 2 Report post Posted November 16, 2016 I'll see what I can scrounge up when I get home. Did you want two saves Legate, or just at the end of the year?
Metis 1,117 Report post Posted November 16, 2016 Well, seems like this is well covered by now. Incidentally, Legate, how's progress on the planned Beta? That still a thing? Because if the Team wants to test the UI ...
Legate of Mineta 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2016 Adrian; From the middle of the year, if possible! Metis; Yep, still a thing.
LaughingHero 1 Report post Posted November 16, 2016 Why can't you make them yourself, though? It's easy enough to just randomly click through the game. Or have you already given them yours and now you need more to test other PCs?
Metis 1,117 Report post Posted November 16, 2016 Because testing stuff like the Control window takes Mastery ranks, or some other method of exerting Control over another student, and that's not something you can get from just random clicking. But the people on the forum, they attract that stuff like magnets .
Legate of Mineta 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2016 What Metis wrote.
Schwarzbart 1,063 Report post Posted November 16, 2016 Uhmm then my saves wouldn't help at all because I avoided Mastery so far and even Calligraphy wasn't a big focus.
Metis 1,117 Report post Posted November 16, 2016 Oh rest assured, there's something a save can test. For instance, the differently colored windows based on which College you're in? Some might not be set up right, scale incorrectly, name it. Kinda why a public test is necessary, since just testing a few saves isn't likely to cover everything. freespace2dotcom 1,029 Report post Posted November 16, 2016 To be fair, I don't really have the time to train in Mastery and the such until later in the year. Even Calligraphy is only half-trained in my normal playthroughs at that point. Personally, since the game lets you play through the summer months, I figure that a late end of year save would be perfect for mere testing, unless that is being fixed in DLC17, which would be kind of depressing. Metis 1,117 Report post Posted November 16, 2016 I suspect that a large part of UI testing involves events and adventures, and the latter don't work during the summer months.
freespace2dotcom 1,029 Report post Posted November 16, 2016 Such are the problems of retrofitting new technology onto something never designed for it in the first place. These enhancements must be pretty substantial to go to such lengths.
Ascartand 3 Report post Posted November 16, 2016 Where are the save files located?
Metis 1,117 Report post Posted November 16, 2016 On Windows 7, C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Academagia
freespace2dotcom 1,029 Report post Posted November 16, 2016 What metis said. (beat me to the punch, grumble) I've backed up my saves on Academagia enough to know without having to look. Though Honestly I detest that way of saving, I acknowledge that there is little the team can do. I've always favored saves being in the install directory under a specific save folder. Or at least letting you pick where to save.
Metis 1,117 Report post Posted November 16, 2016 I have a shortcut to the folder just on my desktop. It's a lifesaver when you're saving the game as frequently as I've learned to do, because Academagia save files get huge near the end!

Oh, he didn't say what kind of saves (except being late in the game, unless "Mature" is a trait/rank you can achieve in the game?), so I thought they are looking for any kind of late saves. Albert 1 Report post Posted November 17, 2016 I'm hoping the "Control" window gets more advanced in Year 2 With more options and more precise control of what they do. Like if you pick bully as activity, they don't try to bully their "Master" etz
Metis 1,117 Report post Posted November 17, 2016 That's a function of how advanced your Mastery skills are(n't) more than a UI thing, but yes, Y2 will...advance in that direction, at least.
Adrian 2 Report post Posted November 17, 2016 Train your company is really rather useful there. Sure, you can't dictated the direction of the study - but it is always useful or at the very least neutral... it does require you to be in the clique, though, with the target. I'm glad that we solved what mature meant here though. For whatever reason I thought that Legate must have misspelled or something, but I couldn't figure out what it was supposed to be
