As far I know you can unlock skills to 20 in year 2 but the focus will be how to unlock the higher level past 10 instead of the training of the skills as it was in year 1.

And no you don't get the unlocks automatic when start year 2 instead you have to work for each and every point of unlock past 10 that's also why we will get some freedom what you do in class.

I personal fear students that didn't managed to train Research to a good level will fast fall behind.

You can unlock skills to 20 in year 1.... But it takes a lot of favors and work...

I'm thinking research will be one major gateway to getting maximum increases. Adventures and training sessions with experts and specialists in the field.

I wouldn't be surprised if some students become experts at one thing or Another and doign adventures with them and hanging out will allow you to unlock their potential for your character. You do them a favor or two and they will show you their secrets and breakthroughs.

Butter up with professors and they might let you in on something.

The other path, grind the Research skill's, find the secrets of the ancient mages of the school.

I don't know... Maybe the Legate could tell us how the system is supposed to work. Persoanly, I think it would be nice if things come from different places. Grinding research could give you some of it, Adventures other Points...

Maybe we will have to wait and see, but I really want to see Year 2 soon!

I can see Durand getting pretty good at Incantation, There is more than one guy that's gifted and obsessed with Astrology one gifted and one just studious, there is Troublepot that loves clokwork and tinkering. We got a scientist that loves explosions.... A student obsessed with bringing paintings to Life, a master chef, some decent enchatners and crafters.

I'm not sure if there is anyone that's especialy gifted at Revision, but there might be, we got a few gifted Negationists among the students and faculty.

There might also be some new students in Year two. An d for those attendign Gates school there will be two or mroe Gates students i addition to the others and professors.

Mastery, I don't know... Closest thing we got is those Sync guys that are more of a fan Creation, or that wizard involved with the Keystone quest but that was as far as we know a temporary visitor that wasn't very popular.

I guess we will have to wait and see. Also, I think new skills will grow more imporant in the long run these skills we know might just be the basic ones that form the Foundation for further study.

Where is year 2, sigh :( I got a World to bedazzle, impress, burn, posess, conquer, etz, with different weirdo students! And fun stuff to explore!

It should be important for academic work, especialy in the more advanced classes and Projects that go beyond the basics.

I even put some research skills on some of my familiars :P

Student: Hawkes, could you fetch me some Gates books on the itneraction between Gates and Laylines... I got some falconnips for you afterwards!

Hawk familiar: CAW! *takes flight*

´Air express delivery with built in research skills and library knowledge.... Hummm.... Did I remember to teach it enough law to realize it's illegal and remember to use his sneaky skills?´

Student: I'm sure he'll be fine.

Any library rules regarding familiars? Seems like familiars could be pure horror for librarians if they had to stand the vermin.

*Hawk swoop past a Librarian at the check out and get a stamp on the librarycard and book.* *stomp stomp*

Student: You did what?!?!? *faints*

Hawkes: CAW?

I wonder what problems my current student will get from his chameleon familiar that have good knowledge in glamour (8), average mimicry(6), below average Beguile, plot and slight-of-hand (all 3 at 4) but not much else. ^^

back to suggestions:

Write Thoughtful Letter should be get a selector for friends or professor instead of Parental Approval during the summer holiday in Y2.

Also I hope we have more possibilities at the start of Y2 to use our level 10 Favour with the Regents and Legate then just use it for college switch, extra class or be a Mentor.

Some good things Favour could give before the summer holiday are:

- Books that let you learn some of the new skills related to the speciality of the professor and that return some Favour upon return it to the Prof.

- For the students stay in Mineta choose them as Research Assistant what cost some summer time slot but in return teach some thing in this time slot and give access to some part of Academagia during the summer.

I Think most students of good standign will become a mentor. I expect the next set of first years to be roughly the same numbers.

Only terrible failures and missfits that the professors hate will experience a problem. And might get replaced by a third year.

I think one of the most common problems with the familiars will be their back of social skills and etiquet. The ability Wizard and familiar explain how the familairs lack of social skills causes a negative impact on the wizards social interactions.

The Hawk has to train some basic social skills for it's first adventure, so it isn't hopeless but even so the wizard will Always be better at hit. An untrained familair will likely run into a lot of problems. But I expect that to be normal and most people at the Academagia will have at least some acceptance in regards to those issues, since they have been there themselves.

Outside of school though, people might be far less accepting or a poor mannered familair.

The familairs are a wealth of possibilities, but it might be hard to incorporate them fully.

I would immagien that creature with skills for mischief and no socialskills, temerance or patience will be causing lots of trouble and will be acting out on impulse. ADHD familiars will be a menace, especially once you leave school.

Maybe the school should have a familiar award aswell for each age Group at the school, first year to 5th year... It would certainly be a way for the school to motivate the students to mind their familiar tutoring and get those Little hellions under Control. Where the overall familair control and skillset is graded and awarded.

Just teaching them some Temperance and Patience should go a long way.

The receipt given at the old man (weiqi) adventure say it need advanced revision. Just want to point out that the revision knowledge of Miss Schwarzbart isn't all that powerful and so year 2/3 knowledge should then be enough. If not planed to allow player to craft it this early then it either need some rare pheme or the player miss understood advanced alchemy for advance revision ^^.

Legate eye only:

In the text design document she only had around year 2 knowledge in revision

maybe my old suggestions where missed:

Shouldn't Life prolonging potions and such be fairly advanced and challenging to make and normaly learn about? It seems it would be in the scale of the ultimate Creation. Few things could possibly outweigh the gain of a longer Life.

Some people persue the Everard equation for eterna Life and send most of their Life failing to accomplish said immortality.

I can deffinately see those things existing and Students getting access to the recipe at early years, but to actually use it might be something they will have to work on by Learning to udnerstand the processes needed and described.

I could see it as an interesting piece for study for a Young brewmaster, to learn new skills and perhaps even lockup more advanced brewing skills once you reach the required level.

Kind of like some of those other books that you can't really comprehend but what you manage to gleam teaches you a thing or two and potentially unlocks new skill trees.

Maybe the base potion, could create a very potent healing potion, but a lot more skill in destilling, maybe enchanting and "fluffing" the potion "somehow" will be required for it to become a Life prolonging potion. Year 5+ stuff for sure I'm thinking. Least when it commes to the full potential potions. Maybe a Lesser Life prolonging potion could be made in year4-5 if you're really good. Maybe it could help a relative or something at that Point, to live a more dignified last few years with a few potions.

Otherwise they would be sold at every potionshop and everyone would live longer unless they are very poor..

Year 2, Brew and possibly Alchemy study from the document.

Year 2-3 if your good at it you can make a Base potion that doesn't necessarily prolong ones Life ore replenish Life energy, but it is a potent Healing potion restoring 40 Vitality. But it's fairly expensive and requiers work and considerable skill to create.

Years 4-5: Lesser Life prolonging potion, that energises old people giving them more stamina and endurance which might prolong their Life somewhat but most of all makes their last Days a lot more enjoyable.

Years 5+: With Very advanced Brew and Alchemy skills and whatever else might be thrown into the recipe.... You might claim the ultimate price. Maybe you have to enchant and perhaps use Orthography on some ingredients Before shreading it into the pot for destilation etz... To enhance the effect.

That why original it was advanced alchemy and nor revision based as then it could have been placed at any nearly any thinkable difficult level and it would go just fine with the 2 NPCs ^^.

But over all I think it is fine if a player focus on this already manage to produce it within the time at the academy as after all one needed resource is quite rare and without adding some extra effect to prevent Negation and readjust healing magic it do more bad then good.

Btw Legate I still think it would be a great addition to give a 2 stall shop to Mineta Swagger and a 3 stall shop to transport even if we lose them in year 2.

What was the Pre-requisite for that Adventure now again? What was the name of the Adventure? havn't done it for a while now.

Kind of liked it :)

Don't want Life pro-longing to be too easy though. In many situation it was described as something really really hard.

Then again, I guess it get's harder over time the older you get.

At first there might be simpler counter like that spell that old man mentioned. Later the potion, after that who knows... Eventually.....

There should be a Research line on the subject. At least a basic summary on different methods used by people in the past, even if it doesn't contain all the details on the mothods just a cursory description and some lore. For you to poosibly figure out later in your Life if you persue it.

At the same time it might not seem like a primary research topic for a Young student that hasn't even come ito adulthood yet. Unless they get to think about it in regards to old relatives and other such things.

@Albert if I remember right Worldiness 4 and the name is "The Old Man". And thanks for liking my adventure even if some steps had to be done by the team. (I'm sadly more a idea person then a writer)

If you want to do the Negation Wand crafting also you have to take the Bassan Language exit during the shopping

I Think I got The Swarzbart weed from Cultivate aswell :) That's enough by itself I Believe, but the quest seems to be the easy primer for sure.

What does it mean that an item or material bear an affinity for a certain type of pheme?

In what way is it useful or significant for a wizard? Or maybe it doesn't do anything for you in Year1? Or does it make it easier for you to create/form a certain pheme? Maybe a mechanic for future years?

There are also those "Pips" with a pheme or phemes on them that doesn't seem to be doing anything.

That yuo can buy from Professor briardi.

Thinking of those Pips... They should probably have a unique slot, maybe a broach or coat ornamental slot.... Being described to look like rank pips... Makes me Think of the Rank pips of Captain Picard etz...

Neck mounted rank pins?

Depending on how much there is still to do for the steam adjustment of y1 and how much effort it would cost to split of some Adventures & Backgrounds for a DLC I think it would be great to have a other DLC release in the next weeks. For me it sound like many player hold of their next game for the next DLC and so it would be nice to have something new to do for the wait time till Y1 steam and Y2 release. I think it would even enough if we just got the player suggested content and you keep the team content for a new last DLC.

I think a school that focus on binding with creatures who have their own magic could be something interesting as lore or even as location in Strozzan.

A shop that sell "tamed" creatures that have their own magic near such a school could be a other great location.

Given that the magic flow both direction trough the bound I think this could be a interesting variant of magic for people with lot of money but no knack / time to learn magic.

It also could be interesting for a normal mage who prefer to have some tricks at hand even without a wand.

I think Strozzan is the best location for this as it sound like its very money focused.

In short this way we have the Djinn fulfil wishes story using just the lore we already learned.
