thuvian;

Thanks for the suggestions and comments: you clearly put a lot of thought into this, and we appreciate it. On some points we disagree, but overall we find we're of like minds.

Almost all of Gameplay Complaints have been suggested by other Academagians, and we're working on incorporating most of them for Year 1 and/or Year 2. In particular, better organization/access is a priority for us. Much of the UI/Screen Resolution changes, however, must wait until Year 2.

In regards to Detention, when Impulse updates to DLC 4, I think you'll see some improvement there. ;)

Finally, the printer process may be necessary to .NET, but...it's worth looking at. It doesn't *sound* correct.

Thanks again!

I Hope in year 2 your familiar can have more effect in adventures as they have in year 1. I.e. if the Familiar have higher Awaerness then the Char why not roll on the Awaerness of the Familiar with the assistance of 1/2 the char score instead of the Char score + 1/2 the Familiar score. Especial for sensing/detecting things usualy animals have the much bether senses then a human but also sometime the animal know things bether then the char or are are more intimidating ect.

As Suggested from some one other I think 1 Time Slot for Club/Secret Society in year 2 would be nice.

thuvian said a LOT of things that matched my opinion of the game. But I'm still loving it despite the various 'game hiccups' :)

I'm so loving it that I'm even offering my 'limited skills' to help you guys in any way to improve the game. (Hmm, maybe I should start by putting up a few 'events' in the Modders' sub-forum... or really start on proofreading the whole mod thingy... or...)

Suggestion: just an idea I had that maybe might improve the collegiate merit system. The idea is that, on each class day, the game would run a routine similar to the exams but, instead of grading the students, it granted some merit to the top student of each class that day.

Incidentally, it would also be nice if events taking place during classes checked if it was actually a class day before firing. I swear, I had class events on Juvenalia! Maybe having the "Attend Class" action set for the day as a pre-requisite?

Speaking of events, a final minor nitpick, Grammar Nazi style. The Random Event Animal Pen 6 pluralizes "octopus" as "octopi". This is arguably incorrect, as "octopus" is not a latin word, so, the correct form would be "octopuses".

Mind you, I'm no native English speaker, I only got this specific piece of info from an article (and a rant) on cephalopods from an American Biologist.

As for the merit idea, I don't think it would lead to merit inflation after Patch 19 nerfed the Compete Action. Actually, my very intention was to break the merit stagnation without bringing back the Compete Race.

Sycrus;

Thanks for the suggestions! We're used to Octopi, too...but maybe we need an Event about a visiting cephalod specialist at the Academagia...:)

For Compete, your idea is a good one, but we prefer that points have a basis on AI or Player Action, rather than a specific mechanic. Still, having a greater influence from the position of each College in the Merit Race might not be a bad idea.

The Random Events and their sometimes odd occurrence is a limitation of the engine- but we'll sort that out for Year 2.

Schwarzbart;

I think we can arrange that. :)

Looking at those unequipped item bugs, it would be great if you can create some sort of cheat code system that give the dev/player free item/ability to test it out.

Or someone here make an Ability with the mod tool that give all item to the player to test equip everything and also check if the stats raises properly.

Somehow I got Insight after Insight bonus through my games mostly from the adventures, maybe the team should consider to put more focus on the other Attributes as Adventurechain rewards expecial finesse. (Curent 11 insight but only 2 Finesse and both started with 2)

Edit: Maybe for someone with a basic Gate Magic understanding who have managed The Much-Rumored Tower and also saved the 2 Students of the Past in this new Questline ther could be a "new" kind of MAgic in the next years they can thry to learn ^^.

Edit2: I still hope that we can continue the Familiar: quests in year 2 because during some game versions they were next to imposible to get through and I think its at last the 3. time that I encounterd a broken one. With the high effect this questline have on the familiars abilitys I think it would be fair to give the player the ability to finish them somehow in the next year.

The game tells you everything your clique does right now. It doesn't tell you things that are done to them. It'd be nice to know if they're getting bullied and such. If it did, you could wield Pray for Calm (and other actions which can reduce their stress) to try to help them. The only way I've learned this in the game so far is by going to their character pages and finding the listing for their stress, which is kind of awkward in the interface.

Edit: Since nobody else has posted in the hour since I posted this, I'll just edit my own post rather than adding another. Since the Grammar class focuses on proper syntax and language rules in the language Elumian, it should probably inform the player about the Elumian subskill of the Language skill, and give the occasional skill step in it too.

I really enjoy the game, but one thing that would be really nice to see (and sorry if this is a repeat as I haven't had a chance to read through all these) is a display of the value of a skill (at least that specific sub but possibly also the parent) in the right hand display when you click on the description. Steps to advance is nice, but I generally keep the abilities window open to see my stress and vitality [as a UI issue it might be nice also to see those always displayed, but I think what I am proposing is easier] and it is time consuming to open the skills menu and then scroll down to the skill just to see what level it is currently at. So just showing

Archery : 8

Steps to advance: 3 of 8

in that right hand display window (and there is a blank space above the steps to advance anyway) would be really helpful.

Also, this has probably already been mentioned as well, but as I am in the forums right now due to a crash that erased about 50 minutes of work, an autosave every week could be pretty helpful!

Thanks and keep up the good work!
