As a helpless oranjeboo, I consider every update with De Ruyter a win.

Getting the expectation lowered from beta to trailer is a small downer.

Overall a great update. I really liked the first look.

True.  That being said, maybe some more media can help drum up some enthusiasm for the game...since it has been awhile since the initial campaign.

Heck!  Maybe another fundraising boost for beta keys + extra goodies could increase interest in the game once again.  There have been a lot of new ship-girl rivals that have arrived since the initial crowdfunding campaign for Victory Belles, most notably Abyss Horizon and Azur Lane.

They need to hit the ground running against such formidable foes, but I find a few aspects of Victory Belles more appealing than its rivals:

    -Sensible costumes

    -Native tongue

    -Nice art

    -Interesting lore

Dunno, they're racing the clock. I do know that they plan on giving date info via the trailer, though.

    A trailer?!

I look forward to seeing more Victory Belles media.  I am especially interested in hearing the ship-girls in their native tongue 😀

    LOL!

    Procyon;

There's going to be a little overage, so some will be available. But I can't say how much, for how long, though. :(

    Okay!

I was not really in a position to maximize my support for this game in the past, so I would definitely love to do that for the future 😀

  4. The more I read, the more excited I get.

I can't wait to play with the final product!

Random question: Would there be an opportunity to purchase further souvenirs for Victory Belles, if it goes well?

...like art books, plushies and other sorts of knick-knacks?

    Thanks!

I’d love to see how decolonization would go with the League of Nations in charge instead of the UN.

As for the ships, Two is right to a certain point.  Keep in mind that even if they survive a long time, the Captain is only human, and will more than likely die by the year 2015.  At that point, what is a belle to do?  Would it be crueler to let her live out a lonely existence devoid of what she existed for?  If they ask to be scrapped, would it be nicer to grant their wish?

    Dang...that could be angsty headcanon.

Imagine Belle Missouri looking over the remains of her long-gone comrade Arizona while thinking about the veterans of her past.

The Belles would be the embodiment of this trope - http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/WhoWantsToLiveForever

How often does the emotional connection that drives a Belle to select her Captain lead to romantic entanglement? Is jealousy an issue when a Captain has multiple Belles in his service? Be interesting to hear about this one from a Belle I'd think. La Motte-Picquet perhaps? Been enjoying more Belles turning up besides some of the fan favorites in the various updates.

    Definitely an interesting question lore-wise.

Gameplay-wise, I think we can have multiple relationships a la Kantai Collection without any sort of real problems.

New Orleans for Inktober. (I'm honestly a much better digital artist than traditional ;w;)

I've been posting more Inktober stuff over at my twitter, but mind your step as I sometimes post or retweet ~sexy~ pics.

    Oh!  Now that's good!

They're as human as they want to be. Some probably get hungry and tired just like humans while others eat sociably and are up 24/7 without need of sleep. I'm sure that there's plenty who want to seem as human as they can be so that no one is freaking out that she's not eaten in a month.

Does raise a question about if you can get Belles drunk

Wasn't it implied that Kirov drinks to keep that hard-partying nature of hers?

That sounds pretty interesting.  A Morgana and a belle both fighting with Human crews.  The belle does her best to make sure every crewman survives, but the Morgana throws them at her like the red army, knowing that if she wins she can replace the losses with the captured from her newest conquest.

Chock one more on to stories I want to write but don't have time for...

That makes the Morganas the true pirates of the sea.  Maybe they could be named after famous pirate ships like Queen Anne's Revenge, Fancy, etc.

Something to note about the age of sail is that a lot of the combat was done via boarding actions by sailors or marines.  It would be interesting to see how such a fight would play out with Morganas.  Would Morganas manifest their own sailors to fight, and belles magically enhance their human crews similar to belle carriers boosting their complement of planes, turning it into a magic-fueled superpower brawl?

Maybe Morganas could have zombie pirate crews...or spectral ghosts a la Pirates of the Caribbean.  The Belles have their own human crews, so they could be enhanced or reinforced by the Belle.

If anything, it would be like the game Dynasty Warrior with the Belles acting as the hero / officer units.
