  5. Could spell descriptions state if the spell is only usable in dueling? SPELL NAME USE: Duel or NonDuel PHEMES NEEDED: ROLL: None or Requirements (Int/Glamor of 4 for example) DURATION: EFFECT: (bare bones effects: +1 to Silly Walks, that sort of thing) DESCRIPTION: Also, when we learn a new spell, location, lore or pheme, could the type of knowledge be included in with the name? For example, MODUS OPERANDI - PHEME or GLOW OF VICTORY - SPELL.
  6. I thought two of them canceled each other out but that the other two would still be there. I could have sworn I saw the Pirate one while I was in the middle of the Captain of the Guard adventure. Must have been before I began it.
  7. 1. Ah, okay. I sure didn't want to be playing with that -5% and not know when/if it was gone! 2. So, the Pirate adventure removes both the Meeting at a Tavern and the Job Well Done adventures?
  8. 1. My character has had a Peaceful Heart for a long while now. That shows up under Emotions just fine. She was just hit with Excitement. She experienced Embarrassment on the following day. Neither of these emotions showed up on the list. Also, she has a 10 in Social Skills. If high SS removes Embarrassment, wouldn't it prevent it or make it disappear right away? That -5% chance for failure from Excitement is huge. A player really needs to see that state on the list so he knows when it's gone. 2. I'll ask here to save space. My character started the Pirates adventure and a Reward for a Job Well Done. I didn't do the Meeting in a Tavern adventure because I've completed that one before. Now both the Job Well Done and the Meeting in a Tavern adventures are gone from the list. Was that supposed to happen? (Note, Job Well Done remained on my list when I was doing the Meeting in a Tavern adventure with another character.)

    Why Patrol?

    Thank you! I always thought the clique went out and gathered info about other cliques (i.e., plots, raids, blackmail material) so always thought it was strange they didn't come back with any info.

    I've only ever had low levels in the Patrol skill. I know if you choose the Patrol action that you and a random clique member gains a patrol bonus. My question is...so what? What does a high level of Patrol do for you? I haven't figured that one out yet.
  13. My favorite spell is 6th Finger. It increases your Forge and Enchantment, so it's perfect if you're taking Enchantment. Even better, it's a difficulty of 3 on an Int/Enchantment combo. By the time you've studied up Enchantment even halfway, there's room for at least one pheme. Plus the spell keeps improving your Enchantment, giving you an increased chance to succeed (and more room for phemes) the more you cast. Now, if someone could point me the way to a pheme that raises the zoology parent skill, I'd be much obliged. For Music, don't overlook visiting some of the locations which will give you increases in subskills. The study cubicle #65 at the V. Library improves your notation and music skill. A few others increase Voice, etc. Acad. Practice Room #4 gives you a % chance to increase all of your Music subskills. Music is one of the easiest skills to raise. Dialectic has all those Chaurangliath Path locations which raise random Dialectic skills plus other things. Remember to raise stats via phemes to change those multiple substep skills into single substep skills.
  14. Hmmm, I have a 10 in Social Skills which should unlock Party, but it's not available for selection. I blame Emilia.
  15. The clique consists of Silke, Emilia P., Hector, Luti, Magsa Nembo, Noemia, Eduard and Vincent Eins. The only minuses I see are from Noemia and Luti (art app). I just noticed that Beguile is at 0 and the character's Listening and Conversation skills are where I had trained them to be. So, Emilia's Gift isn't working on those either. The Cowardice did go away once I had trained Courage to 2. It appears that Emilia's Gift didn't reset (other than her Charm bonus). Hmm, looks like she got hit with Bitterness again at the end of Athanos (she's in Galamenus now). I noticed when she had Minor Exhaustion that she was told when she lost the effect. That doesn't always happen. Would it be possible to notify players when their character ends an emotional state as well as when they enter it? Yep, darn clique members. She was hit with Despair and Conflicted the following day. I'm pretty sure my character was a quivering mess of angst and fear by the end of that week.
  16. My character befriended Silke Niederstatter, Emillia Picotti and Hector Per Vittoria from the very beginning. Emilia gives bonuses to Charm and Befriend. My stats reflected that. At the end of the week, I was hit with a whammy of Emotions because I forgot to rest after doing a few Work till you Drops (Bitterness, Anger, Anxiety, Beset on all Sides, Clock Fatigue, Cowardice, Paranoia). After resting, most disappeared but were replaced by Despair and Conflicted. She's since lowered stress, improved Parental Approval to 19, trained to Confidence-4, Awareness-3, Social Skills-9, Schoolyard Ed-5 and Courage-2. Her courage would be higher, but Noemia Falcon y Paredes is in her clique. 1. Emilia's Gift of charm came back relatively soon. However, the +2 Befriend bonus is missing. My character trained to Befriend-4 on her own. The parent skill should show 6 with Emilia's Gift. It only shows 4. 2. Do friends with courage clique bonuses cancel out Noemia? Neso and Eduaord equal a +3 Bonus (Noemia is a -3). However, Emotions still showed Cowardice. Had to train Courage to 2 before it went away. 3. Is my character still in an emotional state that's not showing? I don't want to spend time improving some of these skills right now unless I need to. If the Emotional State is ongoing, shouldn't it show up under Emotion? Also, if she is in one, do a player a favor and give me a clue? That is the most emotional states any of my characters have experienced at once. Wow. Not even after a hostile spell have I been hit so hard.

    That might explain Dispel now that I look at it. Beginner's Dispel lasts until your rival rests, however. ETA: Also, thanks, Legate!

    Dispel & Beginner's Dispel: Do not show on "Cast Spell" list when go to cast a spell. Both say they take 2 dispel phemes. Character has those phemes.
  19. Can you load buffs on the same day and have them take effect in your evening action? For instance, you cast a spell with a sleuthing boost, train in sleuthing and then have an event/adventure/ability that requires a sleuthing roll. Will the two boosts from morning and afternoon apply? Asking because, one, I'm unsure myself and, two, the example above used that. (It appears to me that friendship increases aren't applied until the end-of-day tally.)
  20. I think a demo is a great idea, but I don't think people really get the feel for the game until after midterms. Before then, you're busy befriending and increasing skills and studying. You aren't really good enough in anything to succeed at a lot of the random event rolls. Sure, this adds to your choices later on. But a new player probably won't realize this. Maybe make an adventure that begins with character creation. Have it run X number of days so the player can experience choosing what to do and the general game play. Maybe even limit the choices a player can make (X amount of locations, spells, phemes, actions, abilities available). Plan for it to take a certain number of days. Make it clear in the demo that this is what can be expected further into the game. Maybe even a two-part demo: beginning and latter play. 1. I actually came over here to ask about something. Prudence is part of my character's clique. Twice she's encountered a random event that has Prudence sitting behind her and tossing pebbles at her. There's no option to tell a friend to cut it out. The only choices I had were to tell the teacher or fight back. Neither choice would be something you'd do to a friend. For that matter, even Prudence, snark that she is, probably wouldn't pick on her own friends in class. 2. Context is only active in Stories, and shows you a list of Actors for easy reference. Stories? Actors? What? Do you mean adventures? ETA: Blogs I also don't use Facebook. You could have include a copy of your Facebook blog in a stickied thread in the Announcements section on the forum. The more information out there for customers and especially potential customers to find, the better.
  21. A Conversation Among Older Students and A Conversation Among Elementary Students has the same flavor text. Is that intentional?
  22. I had an idea. Maybe give students who have 10/10 in one or all their classes the option of "studying" another class. That is, because they've done so well, they've been allowed independent study. For instance, my Verin student is maxed out. She wants to study Athletics. She obtains permission to monitor the athletics class. Basically, the student is given the option to max out a 7th class, along with all the knowledge gained from that class. It would be a reward for devoting all that time to studying instead of exploring/adventuring.

    Duel - Huh?

    I only have 3 weeks to play through to actually duke it out. I feel pretty dumb that I wrote over it. I got detention for life in my first game because I pretty much skipped half my classes for a week. My students have been goody two shoes (about attendance) ever since. Figures the first time I skip in ages I'd mess it up. A different color would work a treat. Also, is it possible to have pheme description roll overs during the actual duel? Just because I don't have them memorized doesn't mean my student doesn't. (You've probably already thought of that.)

    Duel - Huh?

    Please Lock. I replayed from the point of declaring a vendetta. Apparently the one time I chose to skip class to study, the block said "attend duel" and not "attend class." I just saw the "attend" part because I'm used to it being for class. So, my fault. Maybe have it say something like "Fight Duel" instead of "Attend" so dummies like me don't make that mistake?

    Duel - Huh?

    My character put a vendetta on Girars, who promptly challenged him to a duel. Later, I selected the Duel Adventure. My character was given the 3 choices about the duel (I chose au moichoir). He made his choice. That was that. The event/adventure ended. The tally at the end of the day told me the duel would take place in 14 days. Finals were also coming up. I devoted his time to casting spells to help with those and to increase my strength since it governs dueling. My character's duel was at 4 (including Duel Tours or whatever that is). I expected an event when the duel took place. None. Instead, All I got was a message that my character was defeated and that settled the matter. I never had a chance to actually duel or select fighting spells or anything. Is this really how it was supposed to happen? It was...anticlimatic. And I'd like to at least see why and how my character lost. He was stronger than Girars, he had dueling skills (Girars doesn't) and he was more than topped out in glamour, enchant, incant and revision. Yes, I wanted to win! Mainly, though, I wanted to play it out. P.S. I repeated this twice but haven't played past the notice.
