  1. Any feedback on any portion of this adventure would be welcome. Requires Relationship > 5 with Beatrix von Wetgen, PC does not have Heritage: Staadan. Wandering with Beatrix von Wetgen 00 and 01
  2. I have only come upon one student adventure that I disliked - that with Malacresta. The other student adventures that I have played at least give the students ways to do something, even if the PC must be involved (otherwise there would be no story!) But Malacresta's adventure has him being sick in the infirmary all the time with the PC's trying to help him. Malacresta's vaunted astrological knowledge barely makes an appearance. Tacito's adventure is also a disappointment, being so much more about Ausdauer Mollers and her mysterious relative. Does anyone else want to share a least favorite student adventure?
  3. I was wondering if the following triggers could be used to permit players to begin adventures or encounter random events during Y2: 1. Whether a PC or NPC has passed and/or failed a Y1 course. 2. Whether a PC and an NPC have Affection (and/or Love) between each other. 3. Whether the PC and a professor or Regent have a given relationship value. Similarly, I wonder whether the presence of Affection (and/or Love) between the PC and and NPC and the presence of a relationship of varying strengths between the PC and professor or Regent could be used as the basis for certain choices within random events or adventures.
  4. @Legate of Mineta has repeatedly said that in Y2, research will play a larger role. What could that role be? Since the probability of @Legate of Mineta telling us the precise details seems lower than [insert whatever humourous implausibility you want], I thought it interesting to say what the Y2 role of research is likely to be based upon its role in Y1. Research in Y1 may reveal locations, expand attributes, increase subskill maximums, reveal lores, or reveal new spells. This means that in Y2, the radical restructuring of Research probably will not revolve around these rewards. This, however, leaves two ways in which research may grant new rewards during Y2. First, new adventures or adventure options. Second, research could in theory be directly tied to marks in a class. For example, extra credit in a course could be granted for students who research a topic related to a course. My one concern about research in Y2 is how all Y1 research levels - but not the benefits, I hope - will be reset to 0. Might @Legate of Mineta clarify the reset - or anything about this topic?
  5. For my upcoming adventure Dear Prudence, I was thinking that since Prudence is so strongly associated with Durand College, it would be nice if the opening of the adventure were capable of reflecting whether the PC is in Durand before any other choices are made by the player. Would this or other customization of an adventure stage's opening be possible?
  6. Inspired by @Schwarzbart's concerns about whether adventures could be written in which characters use drugs, and not being sufficiently informed by @Legate of Mineta's reply that "I don't think we have such a policy- but the Player is unlikely to be in a position to consume", I wonder whether @Legate of Mineta would be so kind as to clarify the Team's position about drug/potions. One of my adventures for Y2 has a possible route where the PC can receive a potion that the PC can use or sell (possibly even to help to solve the adventure). The potion is presented as having been made by Tabin Furenzti and has temporary bonuses and penalties if used. In Y1, there are other adventures and events in which characters can receive potions from students. I conceive of all of these potions as equivalents to medicine rather than non-medicinal intoxicants/drugs. But where does the Team draw the line when dealing with potions as medicines or non-medicinal intoxicants/drugs? Should potions that PC can use have no penalties?
  7. I am beginning to write an adventure named Dear Prudence. This adventure has very little to do with music or beetles, although it does have to do with Prudence Cossins. It is primarily a way for me to incorporate some fascinating lore about her into the game that was cut from Y1, so the core of the adventure is “researching [through the research action]” Prudence Cossins, which the narrative presents as talking to her. I assume that the research mechanic in Y2 will be the same as that in Y1 [viz, each research action is associated with a lore and there are possible benefits at assigned stages], but I made it more beneficial for the PC and Prudence by having each stage of research give benefits (some major, some minor) for them. The benefits would be linked to the lore, the premise being that the research was Prudence and the PC talking about Prudence and both gaining benefit from their talks. So I have two questions. 1. Would this type of structure be possible in Y2, or are the Y2 research mechanics so different from Y1’s that it would not work? 2. Similarly, would it be possible, even in Y1’s research mechanics, to have each level of research assign a bonus in addition to a piece of lore?
  8. I understand that during the summer, players receive marks, choose courses for Y2, return home, and can interact with school friends in various ways. But the following questions arise for me. Will players be able to train characters in skills during the summer? Will there be any libraries that can be used for training during the summer? When will the students set forth for home? Kapsus 1? Later? While travelling home, will characters be able to do anything, even in a more restricted sense (such as explore the airship, gamble with crew-members, etc.)? How long will it take for students to travel home, on average? Will there be adventures specific to vacation times and places? Will players be able to use catalogues to order equipment and use it before the end of their summer vacations? Will players be able to post unsent letters retrieved from mysterious bounty hunters during the summer so that they can gain the benefits of sending such letters in the Y2 school year proper? Will players have to choose Y2 courses before or after they learn their Y1 marks?
  9. By my own standards, I consider the following achievements to mark my most successful game yet: Fitness 9; Finesse 7; Charm 5 (7 with emotional bonuses); Strength 3; Intelligence 16; Insight 11; Luck 2 College Morvidus Subjects: In every Course that my PC took, my PC apparently got the highest marks in the year end exams. Athletics 15; Glamour 13; Grammar 13; Negation 14; Revision 16; Zoology 12 Other Topics: Gates 10; Research 16; Natural Philosophy 10; Befriend 10; History 11; Incantation 11 Social Achievements: Cliquemates: Isabeau Glorieaux; Affection: Beatrix von Wetgen; Close Friendship (12): with Zoe Melis; Teachers: 10 relationship with Legate Orso Orsi, Regent Oliver Storey Adventuring Achievements: Completed Oan's Quest, A Door in the Bad Part of Town, All Morvidus Adventures, the main adventure as helper to the Guard Captain, Zoe Melis's Adventure, the Senior Student Adventure, Beatrix von Wetgan's Adventure, the Wandering in the Corridors, The Snappy Baguette, Just Going About Your Business, Just Another Day in Mineta, and Naming Beasts. So, I have some questions about these achievements: 1. Will my PC's combination of highest marks in final exams, excellent relationships with the Legate of Academagia and the Regent of the PC's college, and successful completion of both the Mentor-meeting adventure and the Senior Student helping adventure guarantee that my PC will be able to be a mentor to first year students during Y1 and/or access Academagian programs that might otherwise be unaccessible to Morvidus students with my PC's course load? 2. Is Rexus planned to return during any future game? 3. Is Beatrix von Wetgen planned to be revealing her true heritage in a future game?
