Schwarzbart
1) Chameil School is in Staade to my knowledge so it would suite if the player can visit this academy. That's why I asked if the player can visit it. next old questions: 2) Do a Artificer need the knowledge of spell magic or do he just need the knowledge of the Pheme and how to work the Pallete into a item? For the game my question comes down if a Artificer need to study the basics of the spell magic or if it is enough if he learn the necessary pheme. (Only got a speculation as answer) 3) Can we get info about the prerequisite from year 2 classes that have 2 or more prerequisites? 4) Can you share some common historical year 5 focus for each College? 5) What familiars can speak the human language and what familiars might be able to learn speaking it with enough teaching? Any news on my questions 3-5? @Freespace I suspect its not much more difficult to move a group of skeletons compared to one large for a otherworldly spirit. At last if the group is close together and have no more single parts then the large one. If you have a creature with a normal mammal or humanoid shape it might prefer the giant skeleton but if you have some beast with 100 tentacles it probably prefer a army. freespace2dotcom
I seem to be the driving force on the conversations in this forum lately, yet another reason why Y2 class infomation ought to br relased. 1. How does a familiar interact with non-familiar others of it's kind? 2. What kind of pie is von Rupprecht's favorite? 3. Does Phillipe ever try to bully Luti? 4. If Diavesque was asked about this dangerous Morgana person, what would it say? 5. Will merchants in Y2 still have their Y1 inventory? (for those of us trying to acquire certain books...) 6. Why is the palace of Usin underwater? I kind of doubt it was built that way, and surely the general odds of water covering something when there is not much water is slim. 7. When are sudents made aware of their exam results. Are they graded on the spot as the game engine implies, or is that only for us players?
Schwarzbart
3) I'm sure that at last in one of the many games I played he had done so. 5) We will have a complete new shopping system in year 2 and so I suspect there will be some edit in the store content also (some items will be gone and a lot of new ones will in the shops)
Metis
1. I imagine Familiars don't act much differently than regular tamed animals, though how they'd react to their own kind that wasn't tamed/Familiarized I'm not sure. 2. I don't think there's actually distinct pies in Y1, just a generic "pie" item. BTW, von Rupprecht's gift preference is set to Unguent potions. I...don't know why. 3. When does Philippe ever not try to bully someone, except maybe Joana? 4. "Morgana? No, that name doesn't ring a bell. Besides which, master, with me in your possession is anyone truly 'dangerous' to you?" 5. I imagine that any Y1 shop inventory that is identical to Y2 is either coincidence or a reference, maybe a few continuity nods here and there. 6. Shoddy foundations and either a sudden flood (Mjolnir-inspired or otherwise) or islequake, I imagine. 7. I imagine they're graded on the spot, courtesy of grading spells that calculate your grade. Schwarzbart
7) if spells doing the grading then we will see spells to manipulate this in the next years. (Maybe along Test Taking 11-20)
freespace2dotcom
One one hand I find your comments to the questions I pose as amusing, Metis. On the other, I find that they often are not informatve from my viewpoint as I often ask them in order to get the legate's response to them even more than the answers themselves, and when you answer first he usually uses your answers as a shield to prevent spilling the beams, so as it were... It helps drum up conversation at any rate. Oh, and you forgot the reptilian hissssss that Diavesque does... Legate, what kind of rules are in place for nobles and non-nobles to marry? freespace2dotcom
The squeaky wheel gets the oil, or rather in this case, the answers. All I want is to know how I'm going to plan my Y2 classes! We already know a few of them, such as Orthography and Brew, (and probably 'Artifice', and Enspell too) I also happen to know of an interesting skill or two that may very likely have it's own Y2 class, as well as a probable Y2 professor, just due to my obsessive digging into the game and related materials, and I will now contemplate saying these things aloud publically just to rattle the gears a lttle more It's not like the Team has been spoiling us left and right. I fail to see how knowing the class info could do anything to spoil Y2 anyway, seeing as how the plans have already been mentioned to release the info prior to Y2 anyway. If we go yet another year without Y2 and still not even a peep on what to plan for, I'm gonna be sad. I know the final product is going to be great, but one can be forgiven for not having much excitement during these luls in waiting. I am just trying to motivate the team! It may be a bit abrasive but I warned the legate beforehand and will stop (begrudgingly) if asked to. Until then, though, I'm gonna think up more ways to get the Team's Attention! I already pm'd the entire moderator list sans the legate to consider my plight. I'm going to go that extra mile! (The info may well be given before they logon again, but I'll deal with that confusion if it happens...)
Legate of Mineta
Free; 1. How does a familiar interact with non-familiar others of it's kind? Through normal communication between those kinds of animals. 2. What kind of pie is von Rupprecht's favorite? [Redacted], obviously! 3. Does Phillipe ever try to bully Luti? I would think yes! 4. If Diavesque was asked about this dangerous Morgana person, what would it say? [Redacted], probably. 5. Will merchants in Y2 still have their Y1 inventory? (for those of us trying to acquire certain books...) No, not in *all* cases. 6. Why is the palace of Usin underwater? I kind of doubt it was built that way, and surely the general odds of water covering something when there is not much water is slim. It's a long story, probably due for a lore, and it involves its guardian... 7. When are sudents made aware of their exam results. Are they graded on the spot as the game engine implies, or is that only for us players? Just for the Players- the Students would not know for at least a few days after. It could be some weeks, given some of the instructors. 8. Legate, what kind of rules are in place for nobles and non-nobles to marry? It depends on the region- some places have very strict laws for monetary penalties. Others are more tolerant, again with fines. It's definitely discouraged, however. freespace2dotcom
1. What magic would be generally assumed to have been used if a person had an out of body experience? 2. Can use (or even simple knowledge) of Gates magic be one such cause? Feel free to be extremely vague here if you deem it necessary. 3. You have mentioned that an aura gradually builds up in wizards as they cast spells. Can this aura vary depending on the pillars of magic used most? 4. Can said aura be tested for Illegal magic residue even if a wizard hasn't cast any illegal spells in a long time? 5. Does this aura grow with knowledge of phemes or other knowledge of magic, or strictly by casting? 6. Is Queen Ickanyke the only Gates user who was spared a black mark on the history books for being one? 7. Can you give any quotes attributed to the college royal namesakes (including the proscribed ones) to give an idea as to their own mindset (which might just differ ever-so-slightly from the images that the colleges try to maintain) 8. Is Malacresta allergic to onions, too? 9. How many generations removed are Adella Nos from Sabinu? 10. You said that Kazus and Ickanyx halls were converted for general use, but how much use do they get in that capacity?
Legate of Mineta
Free; 1. What magic would be generally assumed to have been used if a person had an out of body experience? Glamour, most commonly. 2. Can use (or even simple knowledge) of Gates magic be one such cause? Feel free to be extremely vague here if you deem it necessary. Extreme vagueness is here! 3. You have mentioned that an aura gradually builds up in wizards as they cast spells. Can this aura vary depending on the pillars of magic used most? Yes. 4. Can said aura be tested for Illegal magic residue even if a wizard hasn't cast any illegal spells in a long time? Oh yes. 5. Does this aura grow with knowledge of phemes or other knowledge of magic, or strictly by casting? Strictly by casting. 6. Is Queen Ickanyke the only Gates user who was spared a black mark on the history books for being one? No, there are several other heroes, kings and mages that aren't given, strictly speaking, a black mark. But they all are held up as exceptions, and certainly not something to model oneself after. 7. Can you give any quotes attributed to the college royal namesakes (including the proscribed ones) to give an idea as to their own mindset (which might just differ ever-so-slightly from the images that the colleges try to maintain) I cannot, but I will ask! 8. Is Malacresta allergic to onions, too? Hmmm. 9. How many generations removed are Adella Nos from Sabinu? I am not sure the answer. 10. You said that Kazus and Ickanyx halls were converted for general use, but how much use do they get in that capacity? Oh, about 10%... Schwarzbart
1) At what year will we learn more about the aura? 2) What school of magic can read a aura? 3) Are there spells to mask the aura? 4) If there spells that mask the aura what school would they belong to?
freespace2dotcom
Also. 5. Does the magical aura make casting spells easier/more powerful? 6. Can it ever have physical manifestations? (Would a wizard like Orsi glow softly in the dark for example?)
Schwarzbart
7) If the aura of a person affects its spell casting are there spells that manipulate this aura to make the person a more powerful / weaker caster?
Legate of Mineta
Schwarzbart and Free; 1) At what year will we learn more about the aura? You have seen it already in Y1, although you may not have recognized it. But I don't think it will have any mechanical effects to be manipulated until the ending years. 2) What school of magic can read a aura? Negation is easiest, but the other Pillars can do so in various ways as well. 3) Are there spells to mask the aura? Sort of, in Glamour and Negation. 4) If there spells that mask the aura what school would they belong to? As above. 5. Does the magical aura make casting spells easier/more powerful? It can, yes. 6. Can it ever have physical manifestations? (Would a wizard like Orsi glow softly in the dark for example?) Yes, it can. 7) If the aura of a person affects its spell casting are there spells that manipulate this aura to make the person a more powerful / weaker caster? Not directly, no, although there are Spells that can temporarily enhance/suppress auras, which then may have attendant effects.
