Lira
I noticed that I had lost my Cha-bonus from Emilia and when I checked, I saw that a char who had a negative relationship with me added herself to my clique. How is that possible? As my social skills were rather low, I found no way to fix it - without losing half my clique. I tried to increase the relationship with her - but even when it was back to neutral, my clique didn't fix itself. :/ But I didn't get any pop-up notices or anything. In the end I went back to an earlier save - of course I only noticed the problem after I had already overwritten the latest save. I already had other chars simply add themselves to my clique - but as long as they didn't upset anything, I welcomed them. But how can someone with negative stats (which went from bad to worse actually the longer she was in the clique) add themselves? Anyone else have something like that happen? And are there ways to fix it? - It was actually a student whom I might have added if I hadn't started out with negative stats with her due to my background. Mikka
What's happening is the student isn't befriending you, she (or he) is befriending a member of your clique. Or your clique-member might be befriending him or her. NPCs have as much access to Befriend in order to create or join cliques as you do, and thus a member can surprise-enter your clique through making friends with one of the others in your clique. Emilia, being a character with high social skills, and an AI tendency to try and Befriend others, is rather notorious for it- she's surprised-invited quite a few people in to cliques of mine without me wanting it so. The only real thing to do about it is get your relationship with that character/new member to at least +1 immediately, and make sure they have +1 with all members of your clique as well (hard if you have no gossip- but, well, there's a reason to start raising it). That should make all members clique-skill come back to you, if your clique hasn't broken up during the fuss period.
Schwarzbart
When there is a clique fighting you loose all bonus of your clique members. So allways make sure that every member of your clique is at last at +1 relationshup with each other member so that no clique fight starts. As Mikka already mentions the NPC Students will also use Befriend and so it even can happen that wenn your to slow at the start that you join a NPC started clique without any actions from your side. 89157Z
I actually joined a clique which was tightknit, had one character in it who loved me, and... one character in it who hated me. Phew. The worst part is that after I joined, the relationship started deteriorating at an accelerated pace! I had to spend an entire day entertaining Mhadi so he'd forgive me. Not quite sure why the relationship was deteriorating like that in the meanwhile. Is it just me, or does the game have more ways to be popular among the opposite sex than among your own? o_o I had lots of abilities that would let me target girls, but I had very few options that would let me target Mhadi himself, as that character was a boy. I think when cliques are fighting, it actually causes deteriorations in relationships throughout the clique.
Lira
Okay, thanks for the infos. Guess I will have to learn Gossip after all. I never have raised it with any of my chars. I only used it once a few times when I absolutely wanted to add a char to my clique and the rest of my clique wouldn't accept her (and when I finally managed to get her into the clique, the clique broke upon with a few days.) (I finally fixed it by going back to an earlier save, losing myself about an hour of progress - since most of the time I simply overwrite my latest save, only making a new save to actually keep every half hour and sometimes less than that.) But well, once I'm done with my current char, I intend to try out a Social Butterfly with a huge clique and all Social actions maxed. Not sure yet what college to go with for her, though. Morvidus and Vernin make it easy to get the Merit Prizes without spending days on end competing. Hedi has no rival college - and I haven't yet tried a char in there. 89157Z
I've heard rumors that cross-college cliques will have a rougher time as their Academagia career progresses, especially if they cross the specific rivalry lines.
Adrian
It's actually a good point you bring up there EightnineonefivesevenZ! ( ) we ought to have more same-sex relationship improvements. It is (generally speak) easier to befriend members of your own sex... I think. Thinking back most of my friends have been female, with only a few (but close) male friends. Still, growing up there was a clear tendency towards males having mostly male friends and vice versa. We ought to dish up some same-sex friendship actions, just to level the playing field.
