Does the likelihood of you being reprimanded for skipping reset every month?

Right now I'm on a playthrough where I never go to class. After the first month or so, I started getting reprimanded for skipping class on a regular basis. I read on the forums that this is an intended feature, as your professors will peg you for a troublemaker and start giving out detentions more often.

 

However, I noticed that the reprimandations sort of "reset" every month. i.e. Near the end of the month, I would get reprimanded almost every single day, but as soon as a new month starts, it's like I've been given a blank slate, I can skip for a week or so without getting a single detention. The same applies for suspensions.

 

Just curious, what's the reason for this?

There is a slight relaxation of the CoR due to passage of time. Warning: that's been changed in Year 2, though, to an entirely separate game mechanic...
