Elwan;

That's a good question- I don't know the answer to that one. ;)

I *suspect* you won't miss anything, but that may only be partially true.

Well, I hope I don't miss anything. I get sick easy and missing out on this game would be quite a shame.

My personal suggestion would be to have days unlock in real time but allow players to chose when to advance the date.

PS: Hey there, El!

Thanks for the welcome!

Fifrein;

I think I understand your question- a few things: first, Diplomatic Channels are your own (remember that you are part of the League of Nations, although you may of course discreetly (or, not so discreetly) help out your home Nation. Those Missions affect the overall course of the War...but within limits. Think of it as enabling (or disabling) branching paths. If you support, say, Italy, very strongly, you can have them go down one route versus another. You cannot stop the War in '39 or anything like that, if that makes sense?

I think the most important way to answer this, though, is to realize that progression gameplay (levels, equipment) isn't the same as Story gameplay. They have a symbiotic relationship, but you could just level your Belles to Kingdom Come and never touch the story, if you wanted. At least from our point of view, one does not break the other. ;)

You're free to corner me, though. I just may not know the answer. ;)

Edit: If you haven't, you may want to read over the Update on the War, especially in regards to Plans... ;)

That relieves some of my fears. It still seems a tad unbalanced to me, but at least doesn't seem to break its own scaling. So as far as diplo channels go: You can improve italy's chances of success in their greek invasion in return for use of say, the naval base at Naples. You can never guarantee that that will win in Greece, however, and it will be a vague alliance with you and in no way would ally them with your home country of, say, France. Do I have that right?

I'll just toss in that money = time and should in the game as well. Hopefully you should be able to buy your way out of hours in campaign slogs or (horror!) reading storyline. I'll be reading the stories but will appreciate buying my way out of gameplay after the minimum.

However, you can purchase Resources to keep your battles going longer, if you prefer.

So money = more time spent? That seems odd. I'm not very experienced with games like this at all, but isn't money usually a time saver for those who have more cash on hand than hours to rub together? I'm not asking for any game details, just making a point from a segment of the audience likely not represented very well on the forums. By definition those with limited time resource generally aren't here. I'm an exception and definitely need to ask one of my colleagues to examine MY head. :wacko:

...but you can skip the whole Dialogue if you prefer.

Hmmm, I don't believe you can't buy your way out of Stories, per se, but you can skip the whole Dialogue if you prefer. You can't quite buy through Campaigns either- you will need to battle through them.

However, you can purchase Resources to keep your battles going longer, if you prefer.

So, like KanColle then. It's capped at 300,000 resources each, yet you can spend roughly three months of expeditions & daily quests getting there, and you can fight for as long as you desire (have time to). I do hope that similar would be in Victory Belles with how you can spend time seeking our resources, not just by region-hopping & such, but by actual convoy-expedition runs, and such. Doing escort runs by helping Allied nations by helping their convoys reach places.

I'm alright with this having seen it done in KanColle. People had insane amounts of resources they had to bring it down to 300,000 though. You can get a good 1-2k of resources per day, depending what it is. I maxed out on ammo, yet bauxite & steel struggling behind.

I know! Who on earth would skip Dialogues? :)

Auto-calculate may be the answer to what you are asking, but we can't confirm it will be present in '39. Speeding up battles will be, though. But yes, surprisingly many F2P games opt for money & time in the other direction! :)

As a veteran of resource grinds everywhere, it's kind of amazing how much you can collect if you put your mind to it. :)

Well, keep reminding them- there are a lot of timers you can shorten, for Research and Transit and that sort of thing, but nothing for Campaigns. Those, you have to fight through. Still, it may serve to light more of a fire for auto-calculate- have to look at that one more closely, and see what the server costs would be! :)

Fifrein- Whats the problem with it being a bit unbalanced? Since it seems like its mostly going to be a single player game I dont really see a problem as long as their are more difficult modes and events to challenge your Fleets. The only problem that I can think of for balancing is for a PvP kinda element where balancing is necessary to make sure that people stay within their proper rank and new players dont get frustrated. But (partially due to fact I am one of those players) if a Captain wants to extremely OP and get satisfaction of having that in his game why not? (Plus you can always have fun challenging them by introducing a Hell mode or something like that during events).

Hahaha yes it is. Just like in Panzer Waltz where they allow you to have to two different teams, one for defense and you can choose your offense team. So what a lot of non-ranking Commanders will do is intentionally keep a weak defense team to make sure they stay in a lower bracket. Then they would have an extremely powerful attack team that can easily destroy their way through the teams of the bracket they are in... Not necessarily a build but it does have something to say about the balancing...

But from what Ive seen you guys put out, it doesnt really seem like their would really be an OP build, since depending how your Flag Commands are with the equipment is not necessarily an "OP Build" more of soft counters but alot of differing factors would affect who would win with a lot of planning/strategy and fair amount of luck to determine the battle!

I believe somewhere in the comments on the Kickstarter it was mentioned that you can make any Belle the best of her class. For example it I wanted to I could make Fubuki the best destroyer and you could do the same with any other destroyer. (Unless I misread that conversation and I'm completely wrong) With that in mind it'll be interesting to see what an OP build would look like.

I don't know about you, but I'm excited to see what you all come up with. :)

We already know what I'm going to do. I'm going to use the time between sept 1st 1939 and Dec 17th 1939 being not only the first player to get the honorable Graf Spee, but building her up to become more powerful than Yamato.

Bismarck and Tirpitz will strike absolute fear into foes as they were intended. Those brave, or foolish, enough to engage them will face the full might of -MY- Kriegsmarine fleet.
