Maybe a repeatable Clique adventure, where you can invite your Clique to a party and then you have some options on how to arrange it and different skill options(investigations and exits) for you to use to make it a good gathering of friends.

Where your friends get to spend some time together and have a good time.

Perhaps one for setting it up with the invitations and planning/arranging for the party to happen.

Then another for the party itself.

I don't know if repetable adventure can have multiple stages.

In chase the player learned Gates to 10 without the Secret Background and Diavesque the Living I think it would be great if the Sphinx put the player on a adventure to join Schoanwitch especial if the player managed to do the adventure of the sphinx in year 1.

For Mastery there could be something similar if there is a regular place to study the advanced arts of Mastery

Reason for this is that the Sphinx most likely know how good / bad the player is in the forbidden schools of magic given how many times we visit her

The exceptions of Diavesque is that I somehow expect that this dragon / demon / book give it own way to unlock the advanced gate magic.

I wholly agree that you should be allowed to set on a path like that if you manage to show that you can do it the hard way.

So long as it isn't forced. And I think that this should be something for Y2. (I think you're referring to Y2, but I'm not quite sure)

I don't know if the Sphinx is best for that though, as it is the Emperor's Sphinx. I'm not 100% sure that it would be so willing to help you down that path.

Hiya potential, going to need to keep you in mind. To add another possibility, what about Schohanwicht and/or this suggested Mastery group collecting the PC themselves? I would imagine that this normally doesn't happen often, if at all, but if the PC managed to do/collect something noteworthy enough (cough The Book of Deep Shadows cough) someone might notice and decide that hey, the player already showed interest in the illegal arts, so might as well make that artefact you really want the entry fee and get a promising student on top of that.

A follow-up adventure to Diavesque is the obvious way to have Schohanwicht contact the PC, although if the PC didn't do the adventure they'd need to repeat the Yr 1 adventure within Yr 2, possibly as the first stage or have the PC come across another student (Durand, Philippe, etc) who did the Yr 1 adventure and either kept Diavesque or got worried about the book ling out in the woods and confessed to the PC hoping for help.

Whether the invitation was optional or mandatory would, I suspect, depend on the choices that the PC made.

I actually have another idea for how any studious PC could get in contact with Schohanwicht, but I've said too much already.

For another suggestion, how about a shop that will train the PC's Familiar? Currently the only decent way to train a Familiar is through Improved Familiar Handling, without which it's just not worth the effort at all.

What I'd like to see is some "clubs", after-hours social-type things, run as adventures possibly. One I thought about was for people to socialise on a students+familiars basis, so perhaps one with some races, one with some control test, etc. The problem I had was the breadth of familiars that people have (jump Mr Pebbles! Jump over the bar!) , unless you could categorise familiars by movement type (flyer, land, burrower, swimmer, etc) it wouldn't really work and some familiars just wouldn't fit a "bonded animal" type adventure anyway.

Other ideas were an etiquette club for the better-bred Academagians (say 3-phase adventure serieis, option to gain relationship with a clubber, option to gain a skill point in the "core skill group", option to gain a more generic skill point), a prelude to potions club (to explain all the potion RE's despite the lack of a class) and civic club (help the less fortunate citizens of Mineta, you know that your fellow students know what's best for them), perhaps a duelling club, and a scout-type club for wannabe explorers - things to flesh out a character socially and explore some of the less common skills.

umm there's already a way to join Schohanwicht school without the secret heritage background no ?

I think it start with the " Determine the next step to Shohanwicht" ability. I remember doing it once it unlocks other abilities if I remember right until you unlock all the school facilities like at the end of the "a house in the bog" adventure.

Tough I guess a proper adventure will be good.

As far as I can tell from quickly checking around the mod tools the Determine the next step to Shohanwicht ability, in addition to being incorrectly spelled, doesn't actually allow you proper access to the adventure that opens up Schohanwicht.

You don't get access to the adventure but you do get access to all the abilities you get in the adventure (eunycia's and the shohanwicht ones).

It's been almost two years since i tried this so my memory is very imperfect but I think you unlock oher abilities (like persuade the school something like that). If i have the time I may try to find that old save again.

Also I don't remember the prerequisite either.

HAHAHAHA !! FOUND IT !!

I have discovered the path to the forsaken school for the untainted !!.

1) Okay so first create a character without the "Secret Heritage" background (duh).

2) Then here is the tricky part you have to discover the "Shohanwicht School" location. (the chance of discovery seems to be 0...).

( I have to admit I have cheated in this one as i was looking to the path the ability mentioned earlier lead me to believe this was the prerequisite to obtain that abiliy in the first place and I was right !!)

3) After discovering the school, you will get the "Determine the next step to Shohanwicht" ability. If you succeed you will be informed of "Eunycia's haven" location.

4) You have to use a certain number of action/ability in "Eunycia's haven" instead of the character room on any other location. ( I used 3 study action the same day to unlock 5)

5) You will finally get the "A house in the swamp" adventure. Just like the characters with "The Secret Heritage" play the adventure. :D

Damn I am so pround of me, I feel like someone from the Specialist serie (of Las Vegas of course  ). I should have become a police inspector. :( :D

Anyway I have noticed a bug, the first time i unlocked the adventure that way it was already in the third stage. I used numerous time the "Determine the next step to Shohanwicht" ability (it doesn't disapear even if you succeed tough maybe after playing the adventure?) and the "study" part trying to find a way to get the abilities. (I didn't realize at first that it unlocked the adventure thoughtat first it unlocks directly the abilities... when I found out i reloaded to find the correct path).

Not sure if possible but to ease the hassle with shop in year 1 how about give shop (improved) that call the shopping function 2x and shop (advanced) that call shopping 3x.

Good places might be Transport 3 or 5 for the improved and Transport 9 for the advanced version.

I know that year 2 handle shopping different so that this actions then have to be removed.

For my the van Tibernius Mathematics School I think there might even some "van Tibernius Mathematics School Discount" spread to some Professor so they can give I to their favoured Students. Maybe the favour list of Professor Finus Piaxenza is a good place to add this.

(Its a promotion action because the school is still new )

Isn't the ability "Friendly Favor" from Reitz von Lutersee extreme weak?

First of all it cost Reitz 20 pims and the player 1 timeslot then it only have a 50% chance to increase the relationship to a instructor.

I would say the increase have to be at last 3 to be balanced toward the lower end of similar abilities.

Reitz is noted as not being particularly liked by peers and teachers alike, so it makes sense that it has a chance to fail, although indeed it's a weak ability all the same. Heck, Impression of Diligence (Ability) gets you +1 relationship with 1 teacher free of any change, roll or chance of failure. All you need is Study Habits 3, which is a skill that you cannot start the game with uninformed and/or below rank 1 without modding.
