  1. Ahhh bugger, well I can't argue with that logic. Though I'll contest that C3 hosts a destroyer's armament rather than a cruiser or battleship, the point remains. Change my vote to C1! (previous vote B3)
  2. I forgot to post this when I got it last week! Commission from a fine artist, of a fine part of soviet history!
  3. Enterprise, Archimede, and Boiky? how curious! I wonder who is who.... But in anticipation of the inevitable bingo board repost: B3 for me!
  4. Oh how I miss these bingo times. B3 for me!
  5. And another I can’t recall, but which probably has been answered: Are ships the only vehicles to manifest belles? Many aircraft were named and given quite the lively histories and personalities. Would there be a chance for them to manifest? Edit: or cars or tanks? Planes is a more likely and more convenient example but I’ve known items with histories like that as small and simple as daggers. Is one to say Excalibur, should she exist, wouldn’t have a fighting spirit or manifestation of her own?
  6. Something occurred to me recently and I can’t recall if it’s been answered at all: do a belle’s simple needs affect or reflect her vessel’s state? For example, Many belles have been shown to be quite interested in cooking and eating. Does the quality or quantity of the food they eat have any effect on their range or speed? Or vice versa, does a belle get hungry when she’s running low on oil or coal? I imagine it would solve quite a few of Japan’s (for example) problems with certain vessels or operational tempo if they could fuel their belles with rice sans high grade fuel oil...
  7. I'll take that as a challenge. Edit: I have got to change my sig...
  8. Since persistence may inevitably yield reward: I request an introduction to Avrora or Kersaint's belles, as they were mentioned in previous updates! If we have to stick to belles that fave been formally introduced, can we get a word from one of our American capital girls or from Kirov?
  9. Can we get introductions to Avrora and Kersaint, soon? On the topic of the actual update, quite the interesting set of stories. Curiously, the Morgana mist seemed to have a universal weakening effect on crews instead of the unique named effects mentioned way back in the earliest of updates. I was rather drawn to the Morgana as a unique antagonist due in no small part to that particular aspect. Shame not to see it. Overall though, good update!
  10. Thanks to the BCS team, good update for D'Aosta. Also I'd suggest Douglas.
  11. It's nice to see Mahan back again. Bulli Wichita, utilize those skills! Kirov next time?

    Update 166

interesting update. not sure if I approve of her methods, but I can't deny her results! Shame we didn't get any questions answered.
  13. That reminds me! because of my unintended break from the forums, I never did get this posted here!
  14. Speculation leading to a question to answer one of Urza's questions in the thread for the update. (164 for later reference): Theoretically, Belles know how they work. they know everything about themselves from their top speed to the range of their guns and the amount of shots they can fire continuously before overheating. Perhaps the "Captain of the Fleet" drastically improves a belles potential by being a man who can interact with the crew and has an incentive to keep the ship and all men on it afloat. Naturally belles have been smart enough to figure out naval tactics out on their own, but they aren't necessarily empathetic to the crews on board in a way the skipper would have to be. A belle cannot act on any ambitions she has without a crew loading the guns and working the radios. So what I'm thinking about is the Morganas' effects/auras. I Imagine captains are chosen in part because of these. Most, if not all, naval crews have shown vulnerability to the Morganas' effects. As stated earlier, a Belle cannot fight without her crew, so this would be somewhat infuriating for a belle without a Captain. But perhaps a Captain of the Fleet is chosen because he does not lock himself in his stateroom or jump ship at the sight of a terror-class battleship. Perhaps he stands tall while the crew all collapses hunting down an Asphyxiation-class submarine, and maintains the level head required to disengage and finish it off another day. So the question if used for an update is: To what extent are Captains affected by Morgana auras?
  15. Let's look at the wording a bit. "...the presence of a chosen captain can double or even triple performance..." If we take that on its own, as I believe it's supposed to be taken, it's not a 16% to 45% increase. A captained belle gets a 100% to 200% increase in performance.
