  1. Please a link for the AMO
  2. You need to "equip" books in your hands to be able to read them
  3. When I click on a sub skill I have to scroll down to the bottom to see what is the linked stats. Couldn't be the stats be shown between brackets after the subskill ? Something like : Incantation Spells (Finesse). It would help me save a lot of time (when I want to know which stat I need to boost for a fast learning) One more thing : My vitality was at 2 and I didn't know that. Stress, vitality, concealment and encumbrance should absolutly be visible on the main frame. If the stats could also be it would be really helpfull. Too many times have I to click on attributes to know what is my stat, then come back to the subskill list to know what is the stats linked) Or maybe something even better ! The stat AND the value. Incantation spells (Finesse 2) (but the vitality, stress and concealment should be visible, that's really hurting me all that go there, go back, go there, go back, etc.)
  4. In fact some skills should be cross-skill( ) Courage should be in forge AND in chemistry AND in Taking care of animal eating plants. Or a better thing : character, ethics, courage, willpower are things about YOU. A lot of skills are about what you know and what you can do. Maybe some skills should be in fact attributes ? Courage being an attribute, as fitness or strength, would make more sense. And there would be a subskill that would be "Conscient use of willpower" (when you carefully concentrate for a hard task), a subskill (maybe in history) about famous people that used their willpower to overcom ethings, courage in forge is more like "carefullness" or "concentration".
  5. I'm not at all a casual gamer (more a power gamer than anything else). I don't want the gam eto be easier. I want to have choice. During my first playthough I just couldn't get "compete" above 0, because I had no way to get the relevant subskills. Even if I had the only subskill I knew at 10. After playing 2 characters, I know some places or spells will help to get them, but when you're NOT a casual gamer, you hate to rely too heavily on RNG. So feel free to avoid giving names to people you don't know I must say that Andor had a goint point when he said that the real game is to learn the rules. And I like that, but some things are just counter intuitive. Using research wouldn't be the best idea, because there's several paths of research that aren't open for you. I'm looking at you "compete". And I've just no way to know how to unlock a research path. Maybe a "Search at the library" action that would let you chose (it's not to be easier, it's because i'm a powergamer) a new path of research to add. After all if I know nothing at a subject I can always go to the library, or find someone that could teach me the basics. Speaking of that : we need a way to know what know the entire clique. It's really tedious to search for each member. Why not add an action that would be the reverse of "teach" ? You select a friend, a subject, and if your relation is all right he teaches you the basics of a subject you chose (maybe sometimes even better than some teachers ? I know that in real life )
  6. There's a difference between : "you can't master one aspect of a topic without dabbling in other aspects" and "you're stuck at 0 even if you master some aspects". Why not allowing something like : if you have less than 3 subskills you can be at 1 or 2 if you have good subskills ? In my mind the best solution would be to calculate the mean of the 3 best skills. And if you have less than 3 subskills, then just add zeros to the calculation. Always rounded down. So with only one subskill at 10 the parent skill would still be at 3 (which is nowhere mastering it)
  7. Hum, that idea is good. That action need to be accessible from start. And I must disagree with the fact that beeing expert doesn't translate at being good in parent skill. If I have a 10 in climb I know a little about exploring. I'm not on par with another student that would have no subskills from explore. It just seems unfair. And sometimes it's really hard to get new subskill.
  8. Or ! getting at 5 in a subskills unlocks a new subskill. Waiting to be at 10 is a bit too logn to get a chance to be at 1 (!) in the parent skill.
  9. Thre's two things that still bugs me after hours of play : the way parent skills are calculated, and the skills that should be "cross-skill". First some maths : I hate to have a parent skill at 0 when one of the sub skills is at 10 and another is at 5. Or when I have a subskill at 10 and no other and the parent skill at 0. It's really frustrating when I just can't get a third subskill. It just needs too much time to get a decent level in the parent skill. Some easy way to change that : the parent skill gets +1 when one of the 3 best subskills gets at level 2, 5 and 9. The parent skill gets the final +1 when you have 3 subskills at 10. So a skill with two subskills at 10 would be at 6, a skill with only one subskill at 10 would be at 3. There's other ways to deal with that. But I hate seeing those skills at 0 when they don't have enough subskills to be different from 0. Someone with 10 in climb shouldn't have 0 in explore. Cross-skills : maybe some skills could be attached with different parent skills. For instance the animal husbandry could be with zoology AND its actual parent skill. That would lead to more subskills per skill, and thus avoiding parent skills with 0 even when they have subskills with a high level.
  10. I second Tenchifew about the start of the game : there should be some message that says "You'll be able to use those points for heritage, exploits, astrology, etc.." But seriously : every character is born under a sign, has a family (or is a blacksheep) and has been doing things in their childhood. Give less points, but only omens, exploits, familiar, starting items should cost something I was able to select two astrological signs. Is it intended ? About cluttering. What I'd like to see is something like the "prefered spells" from King's bounty armored princess : there's a special page with only 10 slots, and each time you use a spell, it chose which spells have been used the most. It helps to speed things up. So when I click Actions or spells, why not displaying the 10 most used spells/Action/ and then the rest ? Or allow player to "pin" action/spell/etc... in a special frame on the screen border.
  11. One more idea ! About music : why not having music that depend on your emotions : Feeling golden ? You're hearing Ride of the Valkyries. Feeling sad ? Gymmnopedies from Erik Satie. Or music that switch by seasons. In summer ? Summer from Four Seasons of Vivaldi. (or some kind of music that would fit)
  12. Instead of a real retry, if you fail at some events, you could get some new "adventure" that would let you try after being defeated. And if you succeed/fail you can have access to two new adventure (depending on what you've done) For instance : the lost event. You fail. You now have the adventure "Find the lost room" available. You try it. If you succeed you gain access to the "behind the lost room", else you earn access to "Enemies unleashed from the lost gate". And why not events that would change the whole schedule of a day ? For instance an attack of goblins and the whole academagia is on war, everyone try to help repel those nasty beasts.
  13. *sigh* If only I was good at english (which isn't my native language)... I could create tales for the game. One more idea ! (sorry to bother you ) events that would let you retry them if you succeed some skill check of cartography for instance. There was a user created event (where youa re totally lost) and I was thinking toi myself "Why can't I try to find that place if I have a high enough confidence ?" Some events call for a follow up. One more (really sorry) ! Why can't we chose a schedule for our familiar while we are in class ? "Do this/that while I study" And your familiar would obey based on your familiar kinship. They could be used to help relationship, or prepare an adventure (that would let you get a chance to "sacrifice" a clue)
  14. I'd like to be able to select how I study in class (do I try new things ? Higer chances to get injured but higer reward. Do I listen without chating with friends ? No "bad" class event and a fairly good chance to get one more skill step. DO I chat with friends ? I enhance relationship, get the skill step and a chance to get 1 step in playfullness. I work in team with a friend (which I have at least 5 in relationship) ? Better skill steps but a chance to get 1 stess point. etc.)
  15. I'd like to see for mid-term exams and finals what's my rank and why not special events linked to your rank. I'd like to see success failure replaced by success on the edge, success and great success and failed on the edge, failed, uter-failed. That would add to the possible outcomes of events. I'd like that failing at trying in events would always give some skill step. You failed to sing ? You learned about dedication. With that one, I'd like to see success earning less skill step, but items or visitation rights, or a new familiar, or new etc. If you have succed at a roll, you didn't learn something, you just used what you already knew. That's it for now
