Character Creation Question

I can't seem to be able to choose an option when I get to the questions, What have you packed for your journey? and Did anything noteworthy happen to you along the way? Am I doing something wrong?

Have you saved points for that step? You only have 10 points in all during character creation and they aren't saved for you, so if you spend them early, there's no guarantee you'll be able to buy anything on the later options.

Ah I probably haven't, I didn't even know there were points in the first place.

If you look at the blue button that you press to move on in each Background category, it will tell you how many points you have left.

The first time I play it, I thought it's the number of pages left until I notice the drop in number~~~
