Having heard the rumor of King Durand in even his far-off kingdom, Morvoldr would not allow the men of Rimerta to sail into the unknown east friendless. Such was the generous friendship of the northmen that they came without promise of treasure or the consolation of pride, for they knew and valued the sacrifices that had been made without them. But are there limits on friendship, and the high costs it can incur?
