Old "Patches, Hot Fixes" Thread

Consolidated Patch 7 has been released, and can be found here:

 

Instructions: Copy all files and place into your Academagia install folder (same folder as Academagia.exe). For example: C:\Program Files\Academagia\Mods\Content.mdm (Please overwrite all files.)

Important: You must begin a new game in order to make use of the Content Patch. When you begin a new game, simply check 'Content Package 2' under mods, and proceed.

 

Before you Install: Patch 7 does not require you to create a new game, but if you wish to have certain fixes, you will need to create a new one. This Patch is cumulative with all previous Patches.

 

This Patch adds these features:

 

1) Increase modifiers now appear when you mouse over Skills and Attributes, and show Abilities, Actions and Spells affecting it, as well as the Duration of those Effects. Modifiers do not yet include Emotions, as well rarer sources of Increases.

2) Increased log reporting in order to better understand the Vista Save game issue.

 

...and covers these issues:

 

1) Reprimands received on the same Day as they are scheduled are now force-attended, overriding your Evening Action.

2) Clique Abilities are now correctly restored when a Clique recovers from, or breaks up after, Fighting.

3) Damage and Increase Vitality Maximum now work correctly together.

4) A loophole in Random Skill selection was closed. You should no longer be able to obtain Research or Bond Skills in that fashion.

Glad to see you guys keep pushing those patches out. I'm pretty impressed that a lot of the requested features are making their way into the game so quickly.

Patch 7a Hotfix has been released, and can be found here:

 

Note: This hotfix is intended to help Players maintain compatibility when upgraded to Patch 7. We do not recommend that you use it if you are creating a new game.

 

Instructions: Copy all files and place into your Academagia install folder (same folder as Academagia.exe). Please overwrite all files.

 

This Patch covers these issues:

 

1) Old games which have disallowed Skills may load and progress.

Does this Hotfix fix anything for Games started with Patch 7? I ask because I prefer to not update during a running game.

Edit: got the answaer because I haved a CTD with the Libary of Longshade.

Edit2: Because the Day Reporting is just to broken for my taste after aplying the Hotfix I will wait for the next Patch/Hotfix or going back to Patch 6 bevor starting this Char again.

Patch 7b Hotfix has been released, and can be found here:

 

This Hotfix is cumulative with Patch 7a- you do not need to download and install Patch 7a to use 7b.

Very strange! 7b should not allow the crash at the Library of Longshade.

 

Just to make sure- could you delete GameLogic.dll in your Academagia folder, and, once deleted, place GameLogic.dll from the 7b Patch?

 

Please let me know the results, and thanks!

Made a mistake on my part. When I unzipped 7b, i didn't take it out of the folder it was in. I replaced GameLogic.dll, and it works like a charm. Thanks for the fast help.

1) Skill Maximum now appears in the Skill Tooltip

2) Parent Skill now appears in the Skill Tooltip

3) Skill Steps now appear in the Skill Tooltip

4) Detentions now appear only weekly, instead of for the full year

5) Hotkeys: c for Calendar, o for Control, i for Inventory

 

...and covers these issues:

 

1) Phemes no longer apply incorrectly when casting multiple instances of the same Spell

2) Familiars are Trainable once more

3) Detentions now correctly replace Player Actions when received

4) A rare crash related to the AI was corrected

5) A rare crash related to the Deflect Effect was corrected

6) Certain kinds of Merit Increases now work correctly

7) Certain kinds of Choices can no longer be confirmed if no Choice has been made

8) Increase Effects applying to the Parent Skill now display correctly

9) Skill Steps should now show correctly, regardless of Increase Effects

10) Disabled Clique Abilites now Removed correctly

1) You are now able to save a Day's Actions into a 'Slot', and then use those stored Actions on a future Day:

 

a) You must be in the Confirmation Window, if you want to save specific Choices. Otherwise, you can use this feature from the Calendar Window and save only general actions.

Pressing F1-F5 saves a Day's Actions into a Slot.

c) Pressing CTRL+F1-F5 replaces the current Day's Actions with the ones stored in the Slot.

d) The graphical implementation will arrive in Patch 10.

e) In Patch 10 you will be able to tell what Actions are stored in a Slot, by mousing over a graphic.

f) Some Actions cannot be replaced or stored: Detention, Hall Sessions, Praetexta Court, Illness, etc.

 

2) Roll Over Information for Actions, Abilities, Spells and Preparation Locations now does not reset unless you move the mouse from them.

Thanks a loot now I hopfull can continue my game.

More of a general question about this patch is it bether to update to this patch in general for a running game or only if the game was stuck with one of the crashing bugs.

You should be fine to update and play an old save. Some behaviors that were corrected will not be unless you start a new game, but that should have relatively little impact on you.

9) Skill Steps should not show correctly, regardless of Increase Effects

 

 

I assume that really means now :(
