Procyon
As I mentioned in discord, need to add ARP Kongou to the mix too XD Wonder why Kongo is the popular ship? Is it due to Kancolle's Kongo?
PizzaRocket
I'm sure that didn't hurt, though i'm not certain if that is the source.

I don't recall that the Kongo class battleships did a lot during the war since they were kinda outclassed by the USN battleships.
Ninjapacman
I don't recall that the Kongo class battleships did a lot during the war since they were kinda outclassed by the USN battleships. They were all used to bombard Guadalcanal and Henderson base, with Kongou and Haruna pulling it off in possibly the most successful IJN battleship action of the war. Unfortunately when the Japanese tried again with Kirishima and Hiei, they got engaged in aggressive night action by USN forces. The crippled Hiei was sunk by air attack the next morning, and Kirishima was obliterated by USS Washington the night after that. Kongou and Haruna engaged in the Leyte operation, where Kongou sank her only ship of the war, the famous destroyer escort Samuel B. Roberts. Haruna didn't sink anything. On the way home, however, Kongou was torpedoed and sunk by USS Sealion. Haruna was stationed at Kure for the remainder of the war, used as a floating coastal defense and AA battery, as was the fate of many of the surviving IJN ships. NSFW on the sides . On the other hand, maybe Victory Belles can make a dent in the ship-girl genre because they have more variety when it comes to ships, nations...and even languages .
