Legate of Mineta
Schwarzbart; At the Academagia, the number is fairly high, no doubt due to the storied history of magical misuse there. I would guess at least 10, but probably closer to 20.
Schwarzbart
Wow that makes me wonder if something like this could also happen to the player in year 4 or 5.
Legate of Mineta
Schwarzbart; Hmmm! Clearly, we need to put that into the Suggestions box.
Schwarzbart
How are the Complication Named Events triggered? I dont think I saw any of them so far ingame.
Legate of Mineta
Schwarzbart; They aren't connected. They are remnants of an earlier design wherein when you went on Adventures, these random Complications would come up and have to be solved. We eventually opted to remove the system because of difficulty and silliness. Too bad, there were some great Complications in there.
Schwarzbart
Is it just me or is the first timeslot of the day more prone to hand out detention for skipping class? (I think someone else also mentioned this) Could it be that getting detention for skipping class depends mostly on the Prof. you have there? Legate of Mineta
Schwarzbart; It's weighted equally, as I recall.
CremePudding
Actually, I looked through some of the complications, and a lot of them are no less interesting than Random Events. In fact, a lot of them are completely fine if used as random events! Perhaps you guys can take a look and see whether any of them can be converted to random events with minimal effort? Schwarzbart
Wasn't the Restless Temple already in DLC 8? I brough my Explore to 10 +1 and my patrol to 5 but the Adventure dont show up in my list
Adrian
Hmm odd,.. maybe there are some bonuses working? Anywho, how are policemen dressed in Mineta? For some reason I sort of imagine them as the british police which is likely far off
Legate of Mineta
CP; You are welcome to suggest any you feel might be good for Random Events, and we'll look at them individually. All of them were written to be (mostly) without context, so they may need additional writing to come back into the game. Schwarzbart; The Restless Temple was DLC 8, I believe. The Prerequisites for that one are Explore >= 5 and Patrol >= 5. Adrian; Haha, yeah! Just a bit off. Policemen are of the Mineta Watch and would typically wear their own garments, supplemented with boiled leather. A tabard would be supplied to them, in Mineta's colors, so that they could easily be identified, along with their badge of office. "What's all this then?" Schwarzbart
Hm then something is wrong because the Adventure didn't unlock
Legate of Mineta
Schwarzbart; Hmmm- first, double check that your actual values (not Increases and such) are 5+. If so, please pm me a RapidShare to the save, and thanks!
Schwarzbart
Patrol is 5 resulting from Hunting 6 Scent Detection 5 Scouting 8+1(Wayfinders Resolve) It could be that there is a undisplayed Bonus but from what I can see Patrol is enough and Explore is maxed. (I even added a day training the Hunting and Scent Detection to 7 with no result) Will upload a save ... everything further per PM or in a Support thread. Legate of Mineta
Schwarzbart; Thanks! We'll review it this week, I hope. Edit: one more Prerequisite- you can only choose this Adventure after Pramidi. What is the date?
Adrian
Which colours are Mineta's colours? Thanks!
Legate of Mineta
Adrian; Good question- I *think* they are gold and green, but I'd have to check. :0 Edit: Yes, it's gold for sovereignty, and green for the scales of the Dragon the Choretan rulers overthrew before the New Gods arrived. Adrian
Please do, no hurry though Do you know if Mineta has a weapons crest by chance? I realize that it can be a bit tricky, as various parts of Mineta might sport such a thing, regardless.
Legate of Mineta
Adrian; The Isle of Mineta is more or less what's left of the Empire of Man, and as such does not have an independent coat of arms. The symbol of the Empire is, in the present day, a white 10-pointed star within which is either a character similar to the Grecian Phi or a character similar to the Grecian Lambda, on a field of crimson or purple (rarer, because of the cost of the dyes.) Older Imperial flags had an 8-pointed star, with a dragon inside. Edit: Were you asking about the Coat of Arms of the City of Mineta? If so, the one most commonly used is a checkered field of green and gold with a white 'inverted w' character. Commonly, the Imperial Dragon or the Phi/Lambda Characters are placed on it in the upper left.
Leoshi
Is there anything like Halloween in the world? Any chance of an event like that and structured like the Dance of Fools? And also what is the most common folklore in the game? I need to read more.
Legate of Mineta
The Dance of the Fools, in many ways, is Hallowe'en. There is no specific equivalent to the placation of the dead, though, if that's what you mean? The closest holidays would be the Passing and the Feast of the Exile, but both of these are about remembrance, more than anything else.
Leoshi
Ok then. Funny that I didn't notice it. I thought that the Dance of Fools is already about remembrance. Then what is the silliest thing that people (in the game) are scared of? On a side note, the Legate's face is starting to scare me a little. That haunting look in his eyes, that overly bright forehead, that smug-like mouth. Do you think that he would look good with a moustache?
Legate of Mineta
Hmm, the silliest thing, eh? Many people are afraid of moving waters- terrified they may be whisked off the edge of an island. But...maybe that's not silly.
Leoshi
Oh maybe they might be afraid of the Legate. Concerning the history. How often would rain or snow occur in Mineta? The fact that there is no Halloween makes it hard to scare the people. With an event I mean. I was thinking of a scary stories before bedtime event.
Legate of Mineta
Hahaha! That would be silly indeed.
