Legate of Mineta
Schwarzbart; I don't think so, no- that may be DLC 16, although there is a slight possibility it could appear in 15. We are going to try, as much as possible, to allow mods to go forward into Year 2, and what you suggest *probably* won't be an issue in any event as you are adding a Familiar already in the game. Secret Project is coming along swimmingly! No, Study is for Year 1 Subjects only. It's only impact going forward, as far as I know, is your Exam score. No, Study is for Year 1 Subjects only. It's only impact going forward, as far as I know, is your Exam score. Wasn't most familiar adventures/etc. prerequisites are based on which exact familiar you have rather than the background you choose? Bet you 1 pim that it will be okay Schwarzbart It's a pity about Study though, but then again "Study" in this game is more about being prepared for the exam and less about real knowledge about the skill, unlike real life where what you study in the 1st year goes on to be the foundation to what comes next year ---- Why does the Secret Project be *secret*, anyway? Legate of Mineta
Pudding; You are exactly right- Study, Academagia, is purely learning what the Instructors want you to know, whereas the Skill is the real knowledge.
Schwarzbart
Oh sad so we will get the new Modbase but for the this important adventure we not only have to wait 1 more DLC (how many months this will will take oO) but also can't cheat with looking about the requirments and rolls bevore we tackle it ^^. I hope you will give us some hints about the requirement when it is released (as you have ignored this part of my questions I asked bevore ^^). Legate of Mineta
Schwarzbart; Hahaha, sorry. I don't believe that the requirements will change, but if they do, I'll let you know.
Schwarzbart
Can NPCs set Memory for them i.e. when using Pay Tuition? If not can they use the Action/Abilitys that have a Memory requirment or are blocked from using them?
Legate of Mineta
I believe you are asking if NPCs can have memories? If so, yes, and their prerequisites are calculated normally.
Schwarzbart
OK then its no wonder why Academagia have such a high Memory usage ^^. So its (one of) the only thing NPCs can't do are events and adventures what is already abig enough thing they can't do. I find it kind of sad for the over all NPC progression that after the Sphinx got put into a adventure it will become player exclusive. For the Venalicium it wasn't this big of thing because the Abilitys/Actions where still unlookable via some SS and the Adventure just offer a differnt way. Personal I would prefer it if the Adventure have no requisit and just give the location and that Player and NPCs still can get it via exploration and a lvl 11 SS. My personal reason to remove any Requirment from the sphinx adventure is to give a as broad build as posible the ability to have a flexible training tool and not force every player who whant to have a successfull build to go into research skills. Don't you also think that the Research skill is already over powerfull with Research (one controlled way to incrase Attributes / Skill maxs) and many of the most powerfull training facilitys even without the sphinx? (Sorry It got more like a suggestion / personal ramble oO but I still hope my thoughts will be considered)
CremePudding
I... suddenly start worryiing about the Memory / CPU usage by Year 3+
Schwarzbart
I doupt the CPU will be a limiting facture (especial if they even manage to use Mulitcore CPUs) because its a Turn Based Game so you just have to wait a bit longer betwean turns but Memory could realy become a issue I agree. Legate of Mineta
Yeah, the Students can do almost everything you can- originally they could do Events and Adventures, too. That functionality may end up returning, but I doubt for Year 2. Memory growth...mmm...going to have to optimize, for sure.
MadHatt
Will there be organizations from which you could just resign? (a player could get seriously swamped by joining them all). Will they conflict with each other? Working for the Elemental Warriors and the Pirates would end up with a lot of very annoyed adults. On the other hand, being a part of the Black Falcon Coster and the pirates, you could enjoy some serious benefits from both sides. Also, I think I've asked this question before but in Cirillo's adventure, you get two different types showing up: thieves or pirates. Recently, I've only been getting the thieves...what are the requirements for the pirates to show up?
Legate of Mineta
MadHatt; Yes, you can resign, or, at the very least, elect not to do anything with them. And yes, they do conflict. I'm not sure on Cirillo exactly, but both are still there to the best of my knowledge.
Leoshi
Clarification needed! Durand (Not the College or the student!) the spider. Philippe's familiar. Is it male or female? Male: In the lore section from Philippe's stories, he describe Durand (the spider) as Mr. Eight Legs. Female: Familiar entry for Durand (the spider!) It is a female. Wha? And she is the familiar of Philippe Marchand. Is Philippe Marchand an unholy combination of Philippe and Catherine Chard? If so, then we just found something worse than Philippe the bully. Philippe the rich bully. And whose idea was it to have a spider named Durand? It's brilliant.
Legate of Mineta
Leoshi; Good question- I'll send that to the Team. Edit: And the response: "D'oh! Yeah, Philippe's spider was meant to be female. If it's described as male in one of the stories... Ah, heck. It's probably just Philippe being mean to his spider. We can totally see that. That said, Durand's bio blurb has been fixed so that "Philippe Marchand" is no more. "
Leoshi
Aw.... No Philippe Marchand. But there is the Writer's Corner... And is it too far-fetch to have many small floating islands to build my own home on?
Legate of Mineta
Leoshi; No, there are many small islets, especially around the 'coasts' of the larger islands. However, very few of these have any standing water, which makes living difficult on them.
Leoshi
Ah so I can be like a minecraftian and just choose an islet to build my Arch-mages comfy home away from all the politics and restrictions. Many thanks to you.
CremePudding
Regarding retirement and Academagia; do the faculty just keep on teaching until they drop dead one day? And which professor is the most short-lived or long-lived in Academagia's history?
Schwarzbart
I'm very sure that there some Professor and Legate who have retired on theyr own choise and other because the public opinion and or the people spending money on the Academagia where against them. There is i.e. a adventure where you encounter a living former legate of academagia and a other where you learn that one former Professor was missing and your actual the first who realy look for them (even if it is not a main part of the adventure)oO.
Legate of Mineta
Pudding; As Schwarzbart notes, they do retire, and it's not uncommon either: the Academagia has, ah, *unique* pressures. As to the longest serving, off the top of my head, Viada might do the trick. I'll have to ask. Edit: Not yet revealed, they say.
Adrian
I've seen a few times that lectors actually stay on after they retire, despite no pay, just to keep their hobby/passion alive. There was a reception for one who was 'leaving' to retire, yet he had been given a room in school so he could continue. I didn't get to talk to him though, so I'm not sure if it was the love for his work or the fear of his wife, but I could imagine that some of these people could literally work till they died and only be discovered years later when someone else needed an office or maybe, it it was a crowded area, the smell would give him away... Something to consider! Of cause, lectors who are resigned for political purposes are likely bared from this solution...
Schwarzbart
Is Prodigy: On the Prowl the Background that unlooks the Romantic leaned Adventures? If not what is the background that does this?
CremePudding
Oh, right. That Ex-Headmaster who are very likely to be blast off a mountain by a kid. I can't believe I forgot about him Not yet revealed, eh? One must hope it is not because the unrevealed person is decomposing
Legate of Mineta
I believe it is On the Prowl, Schwarzbart. Pudding: Oh no, instead [redacted].
