Legate of Mineta
Schwarzbart; Hmmmm. I *think* so, but...I don't really know if the logic will work as intended. Edit: It would be better to set a flag somehow, but, the Player could sell the Turtle, and still the flag would be set.
Schwarzbart
I thought it would be a great way to add some time pressure within the limits of year 1.
Legate of Mineta
Yes, very interesting method- just not sure if it will work.
isadorbg
Oh yeah, and while I'm on the subject, is that odd pillar out called Artifice or Enchant, and what is the correlation? (I only ask because all the other pillars are taught using it's name, and since there is no artifice class in Y1...) The legate is free to correct me but from what i gather: Artifice is the art of creating a magical item while Enchant is the art of infusing magical properties in an already crafted object. Exemple: you have a regular sword you want the sword the do fire damage or whatever you have to use Enchant. you want to create an equivalent of the one ring (my nasty dream hehe) you will use Artifice. As for the relation, i think its like the relation between Calligraphy and Orthography altough i don't know wich of them is the parent skill (seems to be Enchant tough). Edit: oh and from what i understood Enchant has never been considered a pillar unlike Orthography
freespace2dotcom
I just have problems accepting Artifice as a pillar. Astrology, for all its star charts and mystical telescopes and stuff is still unique. Enchant and Artifice seem to both cover similar ground, and also knowledge on other pillars seem to be useful for both. Anyway, Legate, if one wanted to make an amulet of the eight, what materials would be suitable for the illegal magics, and would such an amulet draw attention even if it wasn't enchanted at all? Legate of Mineta
Free; I am not sure about the materials for the illegal pillars; I would have to ask. It *probably* wouldn't draw attention, though, unless the viewer was particularly knowledgeable about those pillars. A practitioner, say, or an inquisitor... Metis
The Amulet of Six features gold, silver, bronze, copper, iron, and steel braided together to form a circle. Named after the foundation of all magic--the Hexium--the amulet pulsates with the power of Artifice, Astrology, Glamour, Incantation, Negation, and Revision, One thing I'd like to point out is that bronze and steel I think aren't natural metals, they're alloys. If tin is one of the metals assigned to the forbidden pillar, well, that would beg a few questions.
isadorbg
Bronze yes (tin and copper) but Steel is just refined Iron so not really an alloys.
freespace2dotcom
I imagine that Gates might be electrum, and Mastery might very well be tin, hehe.
isadorbg
Electrum is a natural alloys altough rare.
hdghg
Steel is an alloy of iron and carbon
Schwarzbart
hdghg that right in our modern world we know steel result from carbon and iron but for 100ths of years it was only seen as Iron that get better if you work it correct. Now the question is what's the current view in Academagica. I have a other complete different question also: Where would someone report a missing pet or check if someone missing a animal? freespace2dotcom
If I was to create a clockworks object capable of replicating the physical actions of drawing a palette/border and phemes, would it be able to cast a spell?
isadorbg
I know i didn't said steel wasn't an alloy just that i doubt that carbon is associated with any kind of magic plus what Schwarzbart said

Metis
How is Y2 going to handle skill max increases gained in Y1, as well as the things unlocked at skill level 11? Just roll with it because Y2 doesn't have different things unlocked at skill 11 compared to Y1 or something else?

Legate of Mineta
Schwarzbart; Ah- you are still right, though. In Mineta, they do think of Steel as just a form of Iron. Menageria is a part of Academagia, correct, but it's the single most likely place to take rare or magical creatures- there is even a bounty. Metis
...Eh, sorry, but my question? How is Y2 going to handle skill max increases gained in Y1, as well as the things unlocked at skill level 11? Schwarzbart
Skills are recalculated trough the import tool of year 2 it would be bad if not as we already can have a higher maximum then 11 for some skills and then would have no reward. Metis
So...Y2 takes a look at what level skills are at and it gives you those same levels, but the abilities/spells/whatever you unlock with that are all Y2 material?
Legate of Mineta
Metis; That is correct, although I believe the 11 Perk isn't any different.
Metis
If it isn't that's going to make getting the rank 11 Sync bonuses very interesting, especially since 4 out of 5 will be a high priority unlock. Ye knows why, Legate.

Schwarzbart
I more wondering what they put at level 20 or 21 considering how powerful level 11 is already.
