Metis
3) There is, liches show up in at least one adventure. 4) Immortal as in "cannot be killed/banished/whatever by any means" or immortal as in "does not die of old age, but will die if subjected to enough fire"? Legate of Mineta
isadorbg; 1) Of legend, yes. 2) I'll have to ask, but prepared appropriately, it can last a while. 3) Well, what Metis wrote. 4) Vampires do not age normally. no. freespace2dotcom
Here's a question: Are all vampires considered undead?
Legate of Mineta
Free; Yep.
Schwarzbart
1) How go be undead and be able to have children that have to grow (at last when I understand the bat adventure) go together for vampire?
Legate of Mineta
Schwarzbart; Vampires have a form of magic (learnable by humans), which can allow them to do this. It would be proscribed, but essentially very few ever learn it.
Schwarzbart
1) Any chance beside taking the right path at the bat adventure to learn this vampire magic or even becoming a vampire over the 5 years? 2) Will we be able to continue our studies at academagia even after becoming one of the cursed demihumans (Werecreature, Vampire)
Legate of Mineta
Schwarzbart; 1) I am not sure yet- if it were available, it would be a darker path, and likely a much later year. 2) In most cases, yes.
Schwarzbart
Somehow I have my doubts that it can get much darker then some portrait path of study the forbidden magic. At last going mad, locked into a cell for the rest of your live or "just" be killed because you learned the wrong things is already extrem dark in my opinion. Metis
I'm sure that, if nothing/no one else, a combination of grabbing Diavesque and meeting Morgana would very much like to prove you wrong on that point. Incidentally, Legate, Morgana the Cruel. And the Morgana in VB. Coincidence ?
Legate of Mineta
Metis; Sadly, unrelated.
freespace2dotcom
Exactly how dark can the game get by Y5? There's only hints of some seriously dark stuff in Y1. I am all for dark stuff so long as there's a line drawn in the sand somewhere just before the event horizon and you start letting demons possess people and stuff. Really, that can get creepy awful fast.
Legate of Mineta
Free; I can't comment, except to say that the overall character of the game is not likely to make a dramatic switch. Perhaps if you really reach for it, but otherwise, no.
Metis
Really reach for it? Y1 already has several blatant instances of And I Must Scream, to go along with Just Going About Your Business, Once Discovered and Carnage on the Fields. EDIT: What's the most complicated maze that history remembers, on a scale of Modern FPS Map Design to 4D switch-operated illusion-riddled teleport maze? Schwarzbart
2) Are there Incantix and Kazus tower that are closed to all but the staff of Academagia? Given we have at last one Forbidden To Entry tower of Vernin I expect there at last 1 or 2 tower that are closed from this 2 former College. 3) Did I understand it right that the magic of the Vernin Grand Forge need to refreshed again during our time at Academagia? 3b) If so wouldn't that difficult with a Regent that is focused on Revision instead of Artificing? 4) Is there a secret war going on between different magic user that somehow managed to survive centuries or even millennia? At last I suspect such old magic user would do such things for keep entertained (You can guess that I started to read the WoD Vampire rules again ^^)
Metis
2) There are sections of (what used to be) Icanicix that were bricked up and are now inaccessible to pretty much everyone. Kazus, by contrast, was either completely torn down or re-purposed, sometimes torn down and later rebuild. Both, though, were thoroughly looted and plundered before the inquisition showed up to throw every bit of paper and parchment on a pyre, in some cases taking entire buildings with them. EDIT: And here's the questions from the previous page, for your convenience. Legate of Mineta
Schwarzbart & Metis; EDIT: What's the most complicated maze that history remembers, on a scale of Modern FPS Map Design to 4D switch-operated illusion-riddled teleport maze? Celsus' Maze is a great example of a magical maze. Although solvable, it does involve non-Euclidean geometry, so... 2) Are there Incantix and Kazus tower that are closed to all but the staff of Academagia? Given we have at last one Forbidden To Entry tower of Vernin I expect there at last 1 or 2 tower that are closed from this 2 former College. As Metis wrote. 3) Did I understand it right that the magic of the Vernin Grand Forge need to refreshed again during our time at Academagia? Yes. 3b) If so wouldn't that difficult with a Regent that is focused on Revision instead of Artificing? Also, yes. 4) Is there a secret war going on between different magic user that somehow managed to survive centuries or even millennia? At last I suspect such old magic user would do such things for keep entertained (You can guess that I started to read the WoD Vampire rules again ^^) Hahaha! If there is...it surely is a secret... freespace2dotcom
Did I understand it right that the magic of the Vernin Grand Forge need to refreshed again during our time at Academagia? Are we talking about Vernin's grand forge or the Academagia's grand forge?
Metis
Celsus' maze isn't really a maze so much as an obstacle course, I feel. Sure, it has a hedge maze portion, but even that is more a puzzle about from bees and getting past mood roses primarily.
freespace2dotcom
Well, the labyrinth of shadows was destroyed, so... Celus' maze is probably the best the school could do, afterwards. Makes me wonder if the legate would be nice enough to explain whether the labyrinth of shadows was even solvable, or what it would be like to go through it.. Metis
Don't recall that one. Is that from a lore?

Metis
Oh for-I just did a bit of QA topic archive binge-ing, even remembered that post and used it to answer Schwarzbart's second question earlier. Go figure I missed that detail . Still, a Mastery labyrinth? That must have been hell to navigate.
freespace2dotcom
Nobody's perfect. To be fair there's sooo much info it's easy to forget something. Like I totally don't know anything about any Invictus Rebellions, even now. I tried to find lore on it but failed, though apparently a Mastery wizard can be found in those lores that might even be well-known today... Metis
Yeah, if you ever do a lore dive make sure you keep a list of the names you come across and where you did. I've got...ten names associated with Gates by the looks of it, though not all ten are confirmed historically significant casters, of course. ...What? It's solely to know when I ought to turn around and run away, of course I'd never study Gates myself. I mean I wouldn't, but Gods help me if researching it's history isn't fun.
