Sycrus
I didn't even know Impulse existed. A friend of mine pointed me to it, and I saw Academagia on a sale on the front page. Browsed through it and it looked too good to be true. Ended up purchasing directly from the developers, though, since I have a personal preference against running games through third-party apps... At any rate, am loving the game, and don't regret for a minute paying the full price for it.

Impulse actually doesn't require you to run it through Impulse....unlike Steam (probably the biggest reason why I switched to Impulse a few years back). Hm... I've judged it a bit too hastily, then. Thanks, Gunslinger, maybe I'll take another look at it.
Schwarzbart
About Impulse for Academagica you only need it for installing because you can use the Patches from this Forum for other games you need impulse also for the Updates. Some Games on Impulse have Copyprotections on them but they are special mentioned in the description.
Giselle
Bought it through Impulse at a shocking discount during their Christmas discount promotion. Bought it again for a family member shortly thereafter at a more realistic price. Now I feel slightly less guilty about how little I paid initially, and I have someone to discuss the game with. Unfortunately, neither of us can get anything done now; we are so addicted.
Kirz
A friend installed it for me while fixing my computer... and I opened it to check what games he installed. Now I can't get anything done until I finish it.

Scheherazade, Empress
I saw it on Gamezebo. It said something about Harry Potter and Earthsea, and I knew I liked both of these. Then I stumbled upon the walkthrough and I was like, whoa! So yeah.
koichan
From http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/02/11/schools-out-academagia-demo-released/ And i was only reading there because i was busy trying to find a replacement gaming news site for kotaku after their extremely dire site redesign. Can't comment too much on the game yet, though it definitely has the 'just one more turn' addiction thing that the civ series games do. CommissarMega
I'm slightly ashamed to say that I first discovered this game through looking for games on a pirating website. However, I loved it at first play and bought it on Impulse.Clean now. Don't do that piracy junk anymore, corrupts the computer. Among other things. Heh, um, same here . And on 4chan of all places (the /tg/ or Traditional Games Board, though that's like saying I have tubercolosis instead of the Black Plague). Gave it a whirl, got hopelessly addicted, and bought the game soon after. Strange thing is, I don't even like Harry Potter.
Moanerette
I read about the game on Rock Paper Shotgun and thought it sounded intriguing. I'd sworn to give up buying games, but when I saw that Beamdog were selling it for under £4 I couldn't resist. Strange thing is, I don't even like Harry Potter. Heh, I've never read a word or seen any of the films (even though a friend worked on some of them). But I love Earthsea, and that's what the game made me think of. EightDeer
I discovered it via TVTropes. I can't remember how I got to the Academagia page, though.
Andrew Leander
Well, I accidentally saw the game on a local store. At first I'm not too interested in it, but after trying it I got hooked! PS: Do you only sell the game online? Because if you do then I have been ripped off! Schwarzbart
Welcome to the Forum. Now about your question, to my knowledge the game is only aviable as Download at differnt shops and not via Retail. But maybe the Legate can clear up you confusion bether then a other gamer like me ^^.
Legate of Mineta
Andrew; If you are in Europe, and you were shopping at a GameStop, then there are indeed a few stores that do carry it physically. For the most part, though, our copies are on-line. Welcome, and glad to hear you are enjoying the game!
hesuchia
I got into an interactive fiction phase and looked at the top rated ones on Jay Is Games. This was on there. I couldn't afford it, so I bookmarked the site until I could.

Legate of Mineta
You know, I kind of like their 'pet' system for games purchase. Nice touch. Welcome to the forums!
