Legate of Mineta
OK, I checked with the Team: she's a third year, and you will have the chance to visit her again. Well...she'll be a fourth year then, of course.
Schwarzbart
Save converter will be last, sorry! If they make a change after doing the save converter, there will be a world of pain and horror. 1) So the save converter together with imported year 1 chars will have the last number of testing? Lilette
Do we know what Oan looks like or if she'll ever get a portrait?
Schwarzbart
I think the team intentional let it open what college she is in and how she look so every player can decide for their own char. Is it even sure that Oan is a female (not sure right now)?
Metis
Check the quote I posted above, she's female.
Legate of Mineta
She is female, but her College is uncertain for the reasons Schwarzbart noted. They did choose one for her, though. The save game importer will actually be tested with your saves! So we'll know pretty quick if it's working before launch, since I assume you all won't mind submitting your characters (and, likely, trying it out yourselves!) Metis
Once DLC 17 drops and I get my modding madness done I'd be more than happy to have the Team confirm that importing will still work .
Legate of Mineta
Hahaha!
freespace2dotcom
So we're going to need to send you our converted saves to verify if the converter is operating correctly? How large are the converted files expected to be? Or will the converter merely need us to send in a file if there's something broken? And I'm curious, do you know if Y2 will follow in Y1's tradition of needing to start a new game to access new DLC material?
Metis
I personally interpreted that as us sending the Y1 final save files so BCS could test them...though with the modding situation that might be an error on my part.
Legate of Mineta
Metis is correct, although you'll be able to try the converter, too. I *think* you will have to restart for the same reasons you had to in Y1.
freespace2dotcom
Hmmm. So, is the final converter going to be part of Y2 (part of the executable) or is that something that is going to be done outside of the game?
Legate of Mineta
Free; Outside. It's a utility.
Leon Cross
How's year 2's engine? Does it work better as far as late game sluggishness and crashes upon loading more than once, etc?
freespace2dotcom
Considering that Y2 should by all accounts have an even larger database than Y1 I would think that would be a high priority for optimization.
Legate of Mineta
Leon & Free; It's better, but turns can still creep along. The re-loading crash is (mostly?) solved- at least, I haven't experienced it on the test bed.
Metis
Challenge accepted .
Legate of Mineta
In all seriousness, though: thanks. Anything to make Academagia better.
Metis
So what listed option in Google Translate language does Alesfan correlate to?
dyrhet
Almost certainly one of the Ethiopian languages, surely? Given the time period Academagia is aping, presumably Amharic.
freespace2dotcom
How long do you expect a typical game of Y2 to last, particularly compared to Y1? Especially with summer break added in.
Legate of Mineta
Dyrhet is correct. Free; Hmmmmm. On the face of it, about the same as Y1 +2 months. However, there's a bit more strategy/mini-games to it, so that will lengthen the time until you get really used to them, I would think. freespace2dotcom
1. How did the current of embers get its name? 2. What exactly is a derivative pheme? And what was the significance of first discovering them? 3. Would it be reasonable to assume that the average wizard in the preban era knew enough mastery to get a policeman to cancel a fine he just gave out? 4. What is the name of the largest newspaper in Mineta, and how many copies tend to find their way to the Academy? 5. Has the Academagia ever admitted a student that couldn't read? Legate of Mineta
Free; 1) It's usually warm, if not hot, and is the current that the Dragons flew in on. 2) Theoretically, very specific Phemes for almost anything can exist (fire of low temperature, smelling of cedar wood), and when discovered provide a simpler, more effective way to producing an effect than a combination of larger Phemes, balanced to create the same. Useful derivatives are very valuable. 3) The average wizard? No, probably not. 4) O-ho! I will have to ask. 5) Hmmm...probable, in Astrology. Schwarzbart
1) Will my Izaels study adventure be able to be done by people with the secret background given that their home is not in Mineta?
